So I have a 95' Nissan 300zx that has been having air conditioning problems. I had the a/c recharged two days ago at a shop that I used to work at. Normally if you need a charge, you do have a leak. So I found that my leak was on the low side schrader valve. Got that taken care of and had the system vacuumed and recharged. My low side reading was at 30psi and my boss noticed that the high side was wiggling right about 250 and told me that it could be my expansion valve not letting all the hot air out.
So anyways, the a/c worked fine. Now two days later today, I took the car to work and had the a/c working in the morning and felt normal cold temperature. When I finished work, I turned on my a/c and noticed that warm air was just blowing through the vents. I can hear my /ac click on when I turn the button on, but still warm air.
When I got home, I opened my hood and hooked up my gauges. My low side reading was at 20psi, while my high side reading was at 50 psi.
Then when I turned my ac off, my gauge readings didn't equalize at all.
Does this sound like I have a clogged/stuck expansion valve?
I've been doing research online and noticed that people said that they had to take their dash apart to get to it, while some said that they did it without taking apart the dash.
Reason why I didn't simply take it to the shop because it's the weekend and my old job is one hour, thirty minutes away.
Thanks to anyone that has an idea. :)

Go there and download the ha.pdf file for heating and a/c. Page HA-127 clearly shows the expansion valve to be inside the evaporator box, I'm afraid dash has to likely come loose to get to it.

Thanks! I’ll definately look at downloading the .pdf file when I get home from work. Do you know how much hours that’ll take to do the job? To get to the TXV. Have you done this before?

Page HA-12 shows the layout of HVAC in the car, the expansion valve comes out the right hand side of the cooling box, meaning the intake box to the right must at least come off car.

Haven't done the work, at least on that car.
