What would I have to do to put the twin turbo 300ZX engine in my 89 240SX? I found the engine at a junkyard and I am thinking about buying it, but I'm not really sure how it would fit. Has anyone done this or might have some advice for me on this topic?:help

Its a tight fit from what I've read. Apparently there are better (easier, cheaper) ways to make that kinda power. Try the search button.

Thanks...I was just wondering because the deal on the engine is a very good one and it doesn't have that many miles on it. I figured I could probably get some decent money for my engine since it has just been boared .40 over and rebuilt.

IIRC, people say the VG30DET from a Z31 300ZX is an easier swap if youre interested...

It will be tons of hassle and costs tons of money and is completely ill suited for "just getting a few more ponies". Search for other engine options, there are many that will net more power and cost less. SEARCH

Well, like the other guys said, do some seraching. KA parts aren't that hard to find if you look just a bit. There are a lot of options out there. My ex and I started on a VG swap in my S13 about 1 1/2 years ago. It's a tight fit, motor mounts are a pain, the driveshaft has to be cut.....it's just not worth it. Unstable Hybrids was working on one at the same time so they may have some good info on it. I decided against that swap and bought a '96 S14 and slapped a turbo on the KA. Love it.....check out the Turbo KA section. Lots of good info in there....and you can definately get a few extra ponies.....heh

GR :)

lol...thanks...I'm probably going to try to squeeze as much HP as possible out of my KA without the use of NOS or Turbo, once I get it where I like it, then I'll think about Turbo, but I'm not even going to deal with NOS.

You may want to consider building everything else in the car, I can almost gaurentee you won't be satisfied with the power an NA KA buildup will get you, and most of the parts will get ditched when you go turbo. Build suspension, brakes, LSD, put in a few engine monitoring gauges, exhaust, maybe get a clutch, etc. SEARCH the forums, you're likely to find all kinds of options that you can tailor to your specific needs.
