Ok so i bought this 300zx, and the previous owner said that he replaced the original engine a jdm engine. I was wondering if the engine i have could be the twin turbo engine without the turbos?? They sell the jdm engines without turbos on ebay. So is there anyway that you can start the engine without the turbos. i asked this question on an other site and they said that its not a tt engine cuz there is no turbos. thanks for all the help.

also i have another question the car was running good before the winter but it has had some starting problems lately. when i start it it stays on for a little bit and then dies. Sounds like air isnt going all the way through. Im thinking that it could be the cat could that be possible.

It sounds like something is clogged. Somewhere in the car.

i think you wanna get a compression-test, that'll tell you what kinda shape your engine is in, and also if it's an na or a tt --- na's and tt's have different compressions.

without the turbo's, it wouldn't do you any good anyway, right? even if it's a tt engine.

dude if you got a turbo engine with no turbos...that sucks. compression is a lot lower in the turbo engine, and without the turbos that would be pretty much a downgrade from a performance standpoint.

that's a big pain in the butt.

turbo's are like 2-3k...and to turbo your engine, there are a crapload of parts that have to go with it --- intercoolers, piping's, ecu, etc.
