I have a 91 300zx 2+2 with a twin turbo conversion. Here is the list of mods.
Intake
Cat back exhaust
JDM down pipes
Gutted cats
Z1 chip
Under drive pulley
Upgraded clutch
Boost controller (Avcr)
1 piece drive shaft
The problem I have is sometimes when I go to start the car, I will put it to the 2nd key setting and and leave it for a couple seconds then start the car and sometimes the car will not even act like it will start. Injectors or fuel pump or something hums in the 2nd key setting but engine doesn't turn over or anything when I turn it then I have to retry the process until it starts. Seems like an electrical problem to me I know for sure my negitive terminal on the battery has a little corrosion. Thanks!

Can you better define "not even act like it will start"? Does it do anything? Turnover? What troubleshooting have you tried? Checked fuses and relays? Sounds like your ignition could be bad if it works immediately after, but only if it's not doing anything when you turn it to start. Otherwise, you're going to need better details.

The starter solenoid ticks when u go to turn it on and injectors humm then sometimes nothing else happens after that. No turning over or anything.

If it's not turning over than #1 would be to check the starter, the solenoid could be good but the starter motor could be shot.

Quick tip for the starter, try hitting it a few times. You can bring a dead starter back to life for a few more cranks doing this. Worked on my roommate's car a couple weeks ago. Was good enough to let him drive it to a mechanic, rather than have to have it towed.

Question... Is it a 5 speed. If so, I bet your clutch safety switch is messing up. There is supposed to be a plug on the clutch pedal that engages the switch when you press the clutch. If it is out, you will need to put a bolt/nut there to engage the button.

Also, moving this to the Tech section
