when you take off the cover the actual diff the circular thing with the big gear on it and the other gears that make it work i call it the egg dont know what other people call it its the part that has the drive shaft comming in and the shafts to the axles comming out

Ah, you mean the yolk! J/K.

Do you mean the final drive gear? Or the differential? I'm pretty sure they're swappable, but I don't know why you'd do that unless you were making rediculously high numbers on the ground. I know the NA 300ZX ran the same rear end as the 240sx, but the TT had a lower final drive ratio.

If you're just swapping internals, then I suppose you could pull the 240sx final drive gear and bolt it to the 300ZX differential. I know even the NA Z32 diffs were VLSD, so if that's what you're going for, then it makes sense.

an na 300zx is a r200 which is the same as our diffs, but the turbo z is something bigger like r220 or something like that it will not fit unless you use the entire differential and make custom mounts

r230~9" for TT.

That being said, the gear ratio sucks and many tt owners change the rear subframe for the na to shorten their 0-60.

you can swap in one from an n/a z32 with a few more parts, its basically the same diff but with 5 bolt output shafts. or you can grab one from a j30, the later ones even used a 6 bolt setup so its almost a direct swap. its a lower gearset too. i believe with any of them on an s13 you have to swap the rear cover.

ok its done had a na 300zx diff and had j30 axles so i swaped on sat into 240 shell pretty easy had to do this cause the shell from the 300 that was in my car had a problem with the shaft that came in from the drive shaft and it was leakingso now its good and done thanks for the info.
