so when i bought my 240sx i found a 300zx (Z32) diff. i heard that putting on the turbo model diff on the 240sx would not really work well because the final gear is to wide. is there a way to find out if the diff is turbo or non turbo by looking at it? would it be easier if i posted some pics?

The R200 (4.10) VLSD in the non-turbos is a much better choice than the tt diff. The tt diff (R230 3.70) has a different snout length (longer than the N/a). Your best bet would be to go with a J30 (3.90). Hope that helps.

the thing is i already have the Z32 diff for free. i'm trying to tell the difference just by looking at it. the j30 diff would bolt right in without mods, right? Which would be better? Should i just sell the z32 diff?

The Z32 diff has 5 bolt axles vs. the later j30's that have 6 bolt (just like your 240sx). The J30 also has the same rear gear ratio as your 240sx. The Z diff gearing is great off of the line. It works either way. The Z axles will be a very tight fit though. Good Luck!!

300zx axels will fit on the 240sx with a 300zx diff? someone told me i can use J30 axels. is that true?

also i know that the turbo and non-turbo have different final gears. i need to know how i can tell the difference between the turbo and non-turbo diffs just by looking at it.
