Front end damage, experts please help!
I love this Z and its been sitting for a month and I really miss driving it.
How bad is the damage? I know air intake is destroyed, I'll have to replace Radiator support & all the lights with a new bumper and fender. But how much would it take, time/money?
Thanks for the help.

A mechanic near this area said $3500 to fix, I really dont understand how though, thanks!

$3500 is actually a good deal if it includes paint and the new parts. That is pretty bad damage, it looks like the driver side where the fender attaches is pretty bent, that would also cause the sheet metal to crumble on the lower section. It can be a mess and a PITA to deal with.

If you are handy with a welder, and have a lot of patience and all the measurement, you can straighten it yourself. I had a similar issue and replaced the radiator support due to a hidden damage in the same area. It took me a good 20-30 hours to get it right, putting the bumper on, then off, etc.. Then the fenders, well you get the idea. Turned out actually pretty good and have zero issues. Mine was not as bad as yours though, it was just the headlight bucket.

Check out concept z performance, they have new stuff that you can get and replace. Or just go to a junk yard and find a front end that is in good shape and have them cut it off, make sure you cut it further back than where you cut it on your car.

Ya Nissanfreak12 I see what you mean the damage is bad, it would take alot to straighten this out. I guess its not worth fixing the engine has 45,000 miles but the body has about 150,000 and it was salvaged before.
So now I'm considering selling as a whole or parting out, what do you guys think is best? I've had the Z up on Craiglist for a month and no one wants it in this condition because of all the work it needs! I really need to get rid of it!
And with the money I get plus more cash I'd get a new Z! I'd take the TT from you now if I had the money for it!
So should I part out?

Thanks again for the help!

id say part it out... depends on where you are though. i know around me there are a few guys with 240s that want parts, and a guy restoring a zx that needs body parts, hatch etc... where you located? then after you part it out scrap the rest.

Yeah it really depends where you're located. In Cali and Texas they always find Z's in the junkyard, I'm in NJ and never see them, not even 240's. Like nissanfreak said the damage is pretty bad, but the cheapest option would be to find a good shell for like $1k and then just swap everything over from your car (engine, trans, wheels, interior, etc.)

I'm in New Jersey too man, I rarely see any Z's around here. That's a good idea but I dont have enough time on my schedule to do a complete swap.
