300zx caliper setting up help... confused about pins and pads and what not....

im having trouble setting up the calipers to get reay to put them on my car... i got the pins and a brake hardware kit from nissan but i still dont know why i have 8 pad backing plates and how do the pins stay in?

-follow this guide except if you dont have shim kit then disregard that part.

The pins go through the holes on the pads and hold the pads that way.

argh im missing so much of the brake hardware.... now i have to figure out what i need......

i have the pins, the shim kit, and the pads... what else so i need?

You can get away without using the pin clip, make your own if you have to.

Z brakes are by far the EASIEST brakes to assemble.

as far as i know the big clip on top of the brake that goes from pin to pin is basically there to keep the pads the right distance before you put it on your car. try it without the clips.

i dont have the retaining clip for the pins so i ordered that and the top clip... hopefully ill be set now
