Ok I searched and was looking at the service manual and everything was cool until I realized that I might be screwed. Like a retard I started taking things apart without reading first and actually took the calpier assembly apart so now it is two seperate halves. Basically, I removed the four bolts that the factory service manual says not to. Someone please, please, please tell me that I can bolt these back up together and i will be ok!!!

Thanks...I'm in desperate need of an answer here!

Who knows. I'm just wondering why you took something apart when you had NO idea what you were doing. AND the fact that the FSM says not to do it makes it even better.

Wow, thanks JeromeS13 for the much helpful reply! You apparantly are perfect and have never made mistakes. Good luck to you and your future acts of kindness in helping fellow s13 owners.

So Schoolzin, any word on the diameter of those o-rings? I think there was another thread about the o-ring on the calipers. If you're in a jam, you could probably have those made but you'd need to know the material and the size of the o-rings to have them made.

I had a set of "New" rebuilt callipers from autozone, they immedately leaked fluid and I had to rebuild them.

I purchased a rebuild kit from BAP import parts in phoenix and did exactly what Schoolzin has done...I cracked the callipers open, replaced all of the seals and reattached the callipers...

Don't worry, it is no big deal, call BAP and have them send you a couple of rebuild kits...

Thanks guys!...I knew there had to be someone out there who was kind enough to help- I really appreciate it!

The diameter of the 0-ring appears to be about 3/8 an inch. Do you think that I'm ok reusing the ones that are still in there or should I replace them.-I only ask because I have the nissan rebuilt kit, but it doesn't have the 0-rings (because my stupid butt wasn't suppossed to open them). Are the other kits you guys mentioned fairly cheap and do you know if they come with those little o-rings?

Thanks again!

didn't autozone exchange them under warranty???

I wouldn't have done that, but good to know about BAT, i guess...

I had waited for three weeks already to get the kit (the two previous sets did the same thing)...I didn't feel like waiting again.

those bastards and their crappy rebuilds. yet another reason i buy parts new, not rebuilt unless I do the rebuilding.

the reality of the problem is that according to Nissan and your service manual you're screwed.....but if it's any consolation one of the guys I help out from time to time and did the same thing. I was able to clean the hell out of the calipers nothing abrasive for the two surfaces bolt together, then I cleaned out where though ring set, then I cleaned up the O-ringwith brake fluid(not cleaner no cleaners the rubber will distort). Also made sure to use the same I O-rings in the same hole. guess what the results were? They haven't leaked for couple years now, though I am telling you this you are on your own!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would recommend inspecting them for leakage any leakage at all then you're screwed
