At autozone, they say they get oem remanufactured 300zx calipers for 55 plus a core, so basically 100 bucks. Thery say that it's a 2 piston caliper, not 4. Do they even make a 2 piston fron caliper?

Or is it just there wording?

all '90-96 300ZXs used the same type of 4 piston opposed piston calipers. it's probably just the wording. btw, just take back your old calipers as a core charge, they never check and most guys wouldn't know the difference as long as it is a brake caliper.

Ok this may sound like a really stupid question, but if the calipers are remanufactured and sold at autozone, does it have the "nissan" bling on the caliper? Or is a blank caliper?

driftjunke: Make sure they are not talking about a 2 piston rear caliper for the 300ZX, since the rears were equipped with 2 piston calipers,

i'm more curious of the nissan bling. i think since it's a pepboys it's just a 4 piston with clean sides.

It just will not have the pins and springs to hold the pads in place.

the Z31's were two piston as well, so make sure you have the correct years... 90+

actually autozone had 4-piston LOADED calipers for the same car for only $140.But they are discontinued from what i understand. The above would give you pretty much all the needed hardware AND pads :D

It's cheaper just to buy the unloaded calipers, get pads, and make your own pins.

I guess it doesn't matter since no one sells loaded 300z calipers anymore.

yep, they do. I actually bought my braided brake lines from him. I've met him at a meet and he is a good guy. I just can't justify spending that much money on loaded calipers. I spent a whopping total of $160 for calipers, rotors, and pads. The calipers were remanufactured units, the rotors and pads were brand new.

Do you know if the front+rear calipers will bolt up to the knuckles to a 91 240sx? Because I don't want to do a 5 lug conversion.

the caliper mounting bolts are the same. you will have to drill the rotor to fit the 4 lug pattern. But the calipers bolt onto the same place where the OEM caliper bolts onto.

EDIT: Damn, that was ugly. Corrected to reflect standard English grammar rules
