My brakes are permenantly ffffed up, so i bought 300z calipers, rotors, and pads, all for the front only, my rear brakes are still ok.Is this a direct bolt-on, it seems that the sticky about this has alot of confusion. I just need to know how easy it is, or if i need hubs or spindles or studs that are longer. My car is a 96 240sx se, 16" alloy rims(which i understand are big enough to clear the calipers). How soon do i need SS braided brake lines and a master cylinder? Thanks for any info, and im sorry if its here somewhere but i cant find it, and im running low on time and brakes(the front left is stuck half way shut on the rotor)\Bryan

i believe the master cylinder can wait, but your going to need the brake lines to connect the calipers. the 300zx calipers do not use the banjo fitting on the sx calipers

there you go. im gonna try to do the same with a pair of iron 30 mm calipers, rotors, and 1" master cylinder on my j in a few months. hope that goes as easy as it does for you 240 guys. but of course it wont, so ill be cursing for hours while tring to make it work.

another reason y u need stainless lines is that the rubber lines expand and dont provide enough pressure to pump all the added pistons when using the stock 240 m/c. stainless lines dont expand therefore providing more pressure.

http://www.importnut.net (cant remember if its .net or .com) has comparison pics, that will tell u. aluminum calipers have a 'bumpy' finish... kind of like cooling fins on a diff.... iron calipers are smooth all over. u can see the pics at the bottom of my site http://www.cardomain.com/id/s14sx2nr to see the 'notches' im talkin about or just go to importnut and look at the pics. hope that helps:)
