i was reading up on the conversion and it said for the s13 to just redrill the rotors. Is that a good idea to do?

Drilling more holes into the Z32 rotor to make it four lug is what people do.

While you're doing a complete overhaul of the brakes, why not do the 5lug kit too? It's not that much extra work on top of what is already being swapped.

Well worth it to do the 5lug at the same time. When it comes time to buy wheels you'll be happy you did.

Do you have a link of a good read up on the whole conversion?

I was looking online for brake upgrades besides the 300zx. I found: STOP TECH Stage 2 brake upgrade kit. Anyone know how this set is compared to the 300zx braking?

True. It's not that much more work, it only adds another $350 to the price-tag. That's usually the main deterrent for any modification. At least it is for me.

I assume that it would definitely brake harder, and stay cooler longer than the 300zx brakes.... after all, it is a REAL aftermarket brake setup, not something you find in a junkyard.

I want to do a 5-lug, larger brake conversion for my 1990 240sx. I know I can use 300zx, Maxima, newer 240sx, ect. brakes. My question is what model/year has the best brakes for my application? A 1994 300zx? Q45? Thanks!

importnut.net has all the info you need, personally i think the 91 300zx are the best as they have the large 30mm aluminum calipers( Keeps the weight down)

But iron is a better heat sink than aluminum, no?

It's been posted that during instrumented testing, 300zx kit proved no gain in braking distance. The only benefit is limiting brake fade from heat soak. Therefore, the iron 300zx caliper with a metallic pad sounds like a winner.

True or False?
