i am can get the rotars and calipers from a 300zx TT for $200. however i have heard that the rear brakes require more work to put them on the 240. my question is would it be worth getting the rear brakes too or should i just get the fronts for $150. also i want to make sure, all i need for the front brakes is a different brake line correct? anyone know of a good place to get one. thanks. also can somone tell me what tools i will need to get the rotars and calipers off the Z. thanks

You should really do a search on this and read all the helpful information available. All of your questions have already been answered several times. However, in short:

- Rear brake switch is harder than front brake switch- Go with front brakes first - that is where you will get your biggest bang for the buck and effort- Brake lines: Go to http://www.splparts.com. Both front and rear brake lines are primo and can be had for around $90.- Tools: Nothing special. Regular wrench/socket set and hands.- Items Needed: You should also count on getting speedbleeders (also available at SPL Parts) and brake hardware and pads.

I'll give a little bit of advice...

The rear brake swap and front brake swap are equally easy.

The part that makes the rear brake swap more difficult is utilizing the e-brake. If you feel that an e-brake isn't too important, you can swap in the rear brakes just as easily as the fronts. If you're getting both front and rear z-brakes for $200, you definitely do not want to pass that up. It's a steal.

And I can't remember the necessary tools off of the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure the caliper bolts are 17mm... and the caliper/brake line nut is 11mm(not sure on that one). The brake line/hard line nut looks like 13-14mm or so... but everything can be done with ordinary hand tools.

Also, speedbleeders rock! :)

And most importantly(if you didn't know before) Most wheels will not clear the 300zx front calipers(30mm). There are certain s13 alloy wheels that will clear the 26mm ones, but I'm not sure how to tell which ones will clear. s13 alloys will clear he rear z-brakes.

good luck.

I don't know from experience, but I've heard from many sources that they do clear.

the S14 16 inchers should have an offset big enough to clear the 30mm. Don't quote me on that, though The 26mm will clear the stock S13 alloys no problem.

If you can, try and yank the master cylinder as well. A brand new one from a dealership runs $276.

i have a set of extra spl conv. lines that i'll let go for 40$ shipped. These are brand new (used only for one day)...that way you don't pay for shipping..

my email is [email protected] if you are interested.
