I think it would be a good idea if someone could take some measurements of the 300zx brake upgrade. Two of the measurements I had in mind were from the center of the hub to the outter most point on the caliper (diameter), and from the center of the caliper to the part of the face of the caliper that sticks out the most (width). it would give a vague idea at least.

Also, maybe we should complile a list of wheels that fit that people have used on a sticky thread. with info like what diamiter and offset they used. Instead of having every single person on the boards ask if the brake swap will fit their wheels.

I dunno, maybe this is a stupid request, but in my mind it would make things a little better...

I like the idea. But you just need to tell the dimensions of the smallest wheel that will allow the brakes. Any moderators up to the task.

No because the width clearance depends on spoke design so you would need to know the width of the calipers (widest part) and the distance the calipers are for the center if the hub, and the size of the caliper face (the side you see through the spokes) would help make it even more accurate. It still may be a little tricky to measure your wheel correctly though...

He said that already, and he said he wanted to make a list of wheels that would fit, so that we stop getting hey will so and so wheels fit.

Im sorry to steal the thread but will it matter that the tt calipers go on a s13 4 lug 7 spoke se rims? would i have clearance probs and how would the rotors go about...

dGuys, its a nice idea in theory, but thinka bout what your asking entails...

1. measuring the brake caliper dimensions(which is the easy part)

then you'd have to measure the wheels dimensions, for multiple wheels. spoke design alone would make this task tough..then you've got the problem of the actual wheel hub dimensions(does it have a lip from the mounting point on the car's hub, or is it relatively flat, what are the dimensions here, etc)

twoforty: please dont thread hijack, thers already other threads discussing that. please search. there are 2 diffeternt 7-spoke SE wheel designs, one with little supports behing the spokes, on without...you want the ones without. and they only clear the 26mm brakes.

Its a nice idea in concept, and Im sure I could dig up the caliper dimensions...but that by itself wont help many people very much...

Why can't we have people just list the wheels that they know for sure fit, eg, the ones they themselves have put on. That way anybody who wants to know if a certain wheel fits can just compare the dimensions(specs) of their wheel to one of the wheels that has similar specs that's on the list. I hope that makes sense. As far as the caliper measuring thing is concerned i didn't quite understand it so i can't say anything about it.
