Is there a certain order in which I should remove the old caliper/line and replace it with a new SS line and 300zx caliper? I'm planning on flushing the old fluid out and replacing it with a dot 5 fluid. I have read about the bleeding process but not with entirely new hardware. Should I try to lose as little of the current fluid as possible when swapping the lines? Should I try to prime the new SS lines before I install them by filling them with any dot 3 fluid?

i know it will probably work either way I do it, but I imagine one method may be better than another.

My advise is NOT to use DOT5 brake fluid. It is not compatible with DOT3 or DOT4. Your entire system needs to be rebuilt with new components. Any trace of the old fluid needs to be washed out. DOT5 is very expensive and there is no practical advantage for normal street use.

No special procedures when installing new hardware; just use the standard bleeding process.

I had the line attached to the caliper already so when it came time I just took the old line off and put the new SS line on.

ahhh yes that is how I was going to do it. I see you still have a dust shield, is that the stock one re-shaped?

I got a grinder with a cutting wheel and was trying to make the stock shield clear but it has proven to take some time. How necessary do you think the dust shield is?

It's the Z32 dust shield. Probably not too necessary considering the fact that so many people cut or take off the front dust shields for the Z32 front conversion and the front brake calipers/pads are much larger than the rears.
