I'm thinking to put on some 13" diameter 30mm thick rotor (300zx Caliper) on to my S13 . but the hat of the rotor are not high enought, and my Spec V rims hitting the Caliper , I was thinking to put some spacer on there to keep it from hitting it, but the spacer as far as I would like it to extend is 5/16 thick I really dont' like my wheel go too far out. I was thinking if I can just grind e Spec V rims to make the caliper fits, but the problem I am thinking is that would that mess up the wheel balance itself? would it start vibrating at high rpm? what other solution you can think of, please let me know thanx. of cuz I woudl like to keep the current rims and the setup

So you did find some 13" x 30mm rotors? Are they 300zx rotors? As far as fitting them in the Spec V rims, I think spacers may be youre only choice. Ive never heard of shaving the wheel for clearance. Sounds kinda risky, like it would alter the wheels' balance as you said.

I dont know what these rotors look like, but if theyre 2 piece you might be able to use custom hats. When you say the hat isnt high enough, you mean the hat is almost flat and places the rotor too far towards the outside of the wheel?

As I said before, 13" rotors with Z32 calipers in a 17" wheel is gonna be a tight fit...

yes, it's some 13" X 30mm Rotor from Cobra, they aren't 300zx rotor. here is the picture of the rotors http://www.ashleypowers.com/Im...g.htmI do understand it was a silly suggestion to shive off the wheel , now, I am looking in to some rotor that's 13" X 30mm and tall Hats (my stock one is like 45mm ..so I would want some 52-55mm) (I hope the rotor would clear on to my brake bracket I haven't check with Vette rotor yet, but I dobut it. I do know those 2 pieces rotors, they are good, but they aren't cheap ( budget project) .... anyways, I just want that look and performance.. big rotor with small rim..just fits....lol... but I don't like Spacer

so if anyone have a spefcation or application lists of all kinda of rotors for different vechicle , that would help me alot.

hey nismo, im in the same dilemma. i also have the spec v rims and i want to do the brake conversion but i think that the caliper will hit the rim. another thing is that i also dont want to use spacers either. if you figure out a solution please post. can either exar or smithsr suggest any solutions to this problem? i guess this is what we get for gettin the rims with high offsets?

they are the 17x7 rims off of the 2000-2003 nissan sentra spec v. the offset is around 44 or 47mm. yes the offset is supposedly not right for the 240. but i had no fitment issues

spec v wheels have a +47mm offset. the only way to use these wheels with the 300zx calipers is by using spacers.

sorry I wasn't talking about the offset, I was actually talking about how wide is it..like how wide of the rotors I can put it in to the spec v rims .. 12" 13" ..something like that

we test fit a spec v wheel on a friend's car a long time ago. iirc, even with the higher offset, the wheel actually stuck out slightly more than the oem wheel. it's been a while, but 5mm MIGHT clear it by the skin of your teeth.
