Well, I've bought everything to convert my S13 front brakes to Z32 brakes except some stainless steel lines. I know the S13 brakes have a banjo fitting on the caliper, and the Z32 calipers are not compatible with the stock S13 lines. I was going to buy a set of hybrid stainless lines from Project Silvia for Z32 fronts with stock rears.

These.

However, yesterday, I read this on http://www.splparts.com/

"Note: The standard brake lines will work with Z32 and R32 calipers, no special brake lines are necessary. Just install the banjo fitting on the Z32/R32 caliper -- this is how Nissan installs the brake lines on the S15 (which uses Z32 style calipers) from the factory."

I have never heard of this, and I assume it is true because SPL seems to be pretty well respected. I don't have my Z32 calipers in yet, but can I simply take the fitting off my S13 caliper and screw it into the Z32 caliper? If this is possible, then I can just use regular S13 stainless lines.

Sorry if this is an easy question, but I've never seen anything about this in any of the 300ZX brake write-ups on the web.

Thanks.

Quoted from Nissanperformancemag.com, don't be a cheapskate do it right the first time and you won't have to fix it when it goes t1ts up.

"While it is possible to use the 240SX brake lines with the Z32 caliper, it is too unsafe and could be potentially dangerous to drive on. The stock 240SX brake line relies on a 10 mm banjo fitting at the caliper along with brass washers, to create the proper brake line seal. On the 300ZX caliper, Nissan relies on an inverted female flare with the appropriate male brake line flare to seal. We sourced our brake lines from PDM Racing up in Vancouver, Canada, and the fit/finish on their Aeroquip custom lines are superb. "

i've emailed PDM racing and asked them about the the brake line conversion that they offer. they told me that the kit which sells for $80 includes the 2 stainless steel braided brakes lines which connect from the caliper to the S13 hard brake line w/the proper connection.

from my understanding, the only other thing that is needed for the front brake conversion from 300zx to 89-94 240sx is:

Z32 calipers($125-$150 junkyard)Z32 rotors (redrilled to 4x114.3)(Brembo Slotted Rotor $195/set)Z32 brake pads ($50-$100)Z32 master cylinder (optional) ($50 from junkyard or $200 new)caliper rebuild kit ($60)brake fluid

http://www.pdm-racing.com/prod....html

unless i'm missing something, the whole front conversion should be around $550-$600. please correct me if i'm wrong.
