Hey guys, I've been lurking about the boards for a while looking at everything I can find in regards to doing a 300zx brake swap. I've been left wondering a few things.

1. Where do you guys get your calipers? Junk yard is out for me as mine are pretty much picked clean of anything useable

2. My car has ABS, say theoretically I want to carry my ABS over to the 300zx brakes. Is it possible in any way? yes/no

Thanks for any input!

1.) Advance Auto sells refurbished calipers. 92 300zx TT should get you the 30 mm aluminum ones. Left and right are different.

2.) ABS sensor attaches to your hub. Keep an ABS hub and you should be able to keep your abs. The calipers shouldn't affect it.

Wow, thanks for the speedy reply Bumnah! Checking out Advance Auto now. I assume they also sell the rear calipers?

Thanks a bunch, and number 2 is unexpected good news!

Edit: Does Advanced Auto ship to Canada? So far it's looking pretty Amercan only

Edit Edit: Nope, USA only it seems. Well shoot. Looks like I need a Canadian-loving alternative lol

Nice. Thanks, I'll check them out!

Edit: I wanted to swap out all the brake calipers. I'll just need the rears if I get this kit. Don't fail me now, Nico!

Another question: Is there anything special required for swapping out the rear brakes? I read that you need to swap out the e-brake cable if you're using Z32 rear brakes, is this true?

Don't you Albertans have Parts Source there? I'm pretty sure they would carry them.

z32 rear brakes use a drum e brake. you'll need different cables as well

not worth it if you're not tracking it.

We do have Part Source, but I didn't even think they'd carry something like older brake calipers haha.

Bumnah: Not tracking it? The cable? Are the e-brake drum breaks a part of the rear calipers or something then?

Still looking for input on sources to get the parts/kits though if anyone has anymore recommended places.

I'll be checking out Part Source too to see if they have them, as I think I have enough data to get what I want.

Do you really need to be hand fed?

Do you want someone to install them for you?

Search Craigslist, zilvia, ziptied, here, junkyard.

It isn't that hard unless you're a vegetable.

After you buy the calipers, buy a master cylinder.

Then buy conversion lines. splparts sells them.

If you are too cheap to do a 5 lug swap, you can always redrill the rotors to 4 lug.

If you REALLY must have someone hold your hand, you can PM me. But I know for sure this has already been covered.

UGH.
