I am upgrading my front brakes to 300ZX brakes and am not sure which Brake Hardware Kit to order from Nissan. I will be purchasing 30mm Aluminum calipers:

41001-40P00 / 41011-40P00 Manufacture date 7/89 – 7/90 (Twin Turbo Aluminum 30mm)41001-40P00 / 41011-40P00 Manufacture date 7/90 – 9/91 (TT and N/A Aluminum 30mm)41001-45P00 / 41011-45P00 Manufacture date 9/91 – 4/92 (TT and N/A Aluminum 30mm)

The last caliper has a different part number which I am unsure as of why. But I am not sure which brake hardware kit I should buy since the manufacture dates overlap one another:

41080-40P25 Twin Turbo or N/A calipers manufactured 2/89 – 8/8941080-40P26 Twin Turbo or N/A calipers manufactured 8/89 – 2/9141080-40P27 Twin Turbo or N/A calipers manufactured 2/91 +

I don't know if the calipers w/ different part #'s are different, or if the Brake Hardware Kits w/ different part #'s are different. Could someone please clarify this mess for me?

Cliff's Notes Is there any actual difference between the 30mm Aluminum Calipers besides two different part numbers?

You meant 26mm BTW. So does anyone know what the differences between the parts are?

more than likely its the manufacturer, some of them are in-house nissan, some are sumitomo(yes, like the tire company) etc...as far as I know, if you specify 30mm alluminum, it should be fine.(I also dont want to piss you off and tell you the difference is the date of manufacture) :p

http://www.nissanperformancema...akes/

90-92.5 aluminum

92.5-96 iron

iron is heavier so more unsprung weight, but they are also stronger and more durable, prolly the most reliable in the long run.

aluminum will save you a few pounds and is the type i am personally going for. i doubt there is much real world difference tho.

can i ask where u are purchasing them? im looking for 240 back calipers and 300zx front calipers at good prices...

only place i have looked so far is http://www.autopartsgo.com, they have them for around $140-160 each.

ALSO::::: anyone know if the 300zx brakes will fit behind stock 1993 240sx steelies? how about the Rage Breaker wheels?

The 26mm should clear. But I'm pretty sure you will need spacers.

Poot read my post more carefully.

EDIT: Ok I can see you were just trying to help and possibly steal the thread, but thats ok. Sorry for being rough on ya. 26mm should clear your stock wheels (barely) but the 30mm I am pretty sure requires spacers.

they will not clear steel wheels! only the 7-spoke alloys on S_13 can clear the 26mm brakes, not the 30mm. steelies wont clear either.

Can the stock 15" wheel's diameter clears 280mm rotors & caliper?
