Hey all. I have had my 300ZX for about 2 months now and it needs a new sound system as the BOSE system isn't going the distance I want it to. I have an Aiwa head unit that I stole from my sisters Altima when she crashed it, but I didn't get the wiring harness at the time. So I know I need that. What else do I need, because I know that the BOSE system is a strange work of audio abstract art with the amplifiers behind each speaker. Or at least I believe that is what I read. I am on a somewhat limited budget, but my birthday is approaching fast, , and I plan on talking full advantage of it. Any recommendations on speakers for the 4x6 and 6.5in holes that are fairly priced. Still got to afford insurance. ><

Aiwa is not really a HU of choice (at least in my books). Can't beat free tho.

Everyone will steer you to their own brand preference as far as speakers are concerned. Just go to different audio store sites and read reviews (then stop in to listen). Get something that is name brand. Since you will probably not utilize an amp (based on limited budget), then hi-end speakers are not going to help much off the internal Aiwa amps.

When you find what you like, check out ebay for deals. Sometimes you can get the higher-end for the same price as purchasing it at a local store shopping that way.
