I'm just looking to see how much you guys would pay for a '91 2+2 300zx with a twin turbo swap and the following mods:

============

I'm looking at getting this Z as a second car provided I can scrape up the funds. The car has a clean carfax, fresh paintjob (in an ugly color mind you), no dings or dents and no known issues. It has a 6 speed transmission (I thought they only made a 5 speed for the Z?) and the tires have 75% of their tread left. The owner says the car puts out about 350+ hp. I haven't asked for dyno sheets yet. The car has about 80k miles on it and I'm unsure of how many on the engine/transmission.

Any opinions/suggestions/things to watch out for or ask about?

I double posted this in the car specific forum, but I need to make a decision soon. Thanks for the help.

Corey

a 6 spd? maybe a getrag? can that fit in a Z32 without modification? I'd ask him about that!hopefully the Z guys will be able to suggest a good price...

Haha. I know Wes, but I can't resist! I can't believe my Q is still at the dealership! Thanks to Mark though I may be taking it to another shop in Vegas.

Maybe I'll get to have both! *drool* It never hurts to have an Infiniti as a winter beater (err... can I call it that?) and a twin turbo 300zx 2+2 as a summer car! :pface

I asked the owner again about the transmission, he says it's a 6 speed. No other details though. Makes me wonder which transmission it is...

LOL. I'll make sure she gets the attention she deserves, just won't be modding her anytime soon if I get the Z :( . Which it looks like I am unless something comes up.

7 - 8k ... but I'd rather find a real TT or a cheap N/a non-2+2 to do the swap on.

I really dislike the looks of 2+2's, plus they have more weight than a normal n/a Z.

Also I'm not 100% sure the owner is up to speed on what all he has goin for him. Alot of show mods, and he lists engine mods that aren't for a turbo car (ie. Stillen Header, Injen Intake). This would be a car I would definately have to check out in person to verify what he has done to it and just how well in running condition it is.

The first thing I would do to it is rip out the Bosch plugs for the correct Z32 TT fitment NGK's (they have a special depth plug for the VG30DETT) and gap it from 1.1mm ---> 1.0 or 0.9mm based on boost pressure.

And the car should have a 5-speed transmission... the only 6-speed available to the Z's were aftermarket transmissions ranging from 3 - 10k.

Sounds like a nice car, althought very showy and bright (lime green twist?).

I would check it out in person definately. These cars are expensive to work on, so you wouldn't wanna buy it and then have to put it in the shop sometime soon.
