You should be good man. Go by the lines when you put it on, and if it doesn't slip you are fine. Sometimes it is hard to judge by the marks on the backing plates and oil pump.

If you are really concerned about it, try counting the teeth. You will probably be counting for a long time because it is really difficult, but that will tell you for sure whether you are on point or not.

Then when you get everything back together, you can even try to compression test it if you are stillllll worried lol

I freaked out the first time I did this, in order to wear the timing belt evenly it will not line up again with the lines on the timing belt for quite a few revolutions. I think I tried 5+ and still didn't get it to line up, you can always go backwards if you are worried and want to see everything line up again.

It is most important that when you put it on the lines on the timing belt line up with the dots on the cam gears. The marks on the backing plates are just a general reference point and should not be used for the final belt install. They just get you in the ballpark.

As briggs said you can count teeth to make you sleep better at night :)

The counting of the cogs between drivers exhaust cam pulley and crank pully is a PITA!!! Just take your time and maybe use some way to mark the side where you start and end and maybe every tenth one, definitely helped things along.
