I just dynoed my car with the stock t25 setup and I'm sitting at 210whp right now but I definetly need more. I wanna shoot for close to 300whp on a street/track application and I can't seem to find any decent top mount setups for less than 3k. I found a guy selling a brand new t3/t4 namebrand turbo for $500 and I was gonna grab that up but nobody seems to sell a decent top mound manifold to fit it. I'm trying to budget myself to around $1500 and I'd rather by decent parts (no ebay crap). I did find a whole bunch of top mount manifolds on ebay for the t3 setup but I've heard very bad things about ebay parts such as the manifolds cracking very easily. I know enjuku used to sell a decent top mount t3/t4 mani but they don't seem to have it anymore. Anyone know where I can find a decent manifold for the t3 fitting because I don't wanna buy this turbo if I can't find a decent manifold for it.

if your only shooting for close to 300 i recommend just getting a s15 ball bearing and staying bottom mount.

at the output your looking for you dont really need to go top mount.

a good tune FMIC and some 550cc injectors will net you at 300 if not more.

and it will be under your 1500 budget

Its tough to put together a quality turbo kit for 1500 dollars. I spend close to 3000 dollars on upgrading my turbo. This included a 1000 dollar BB turbo, power fc, bigger injectors, 300zx MAF and misc stuff like front mount, turbo lines, head gasket, head studs, replacing misc gaskets, misc bolts.

You will be surprised how much you spend on misc stuff. Especially bolts and gaskets you may need to replace. Also with buying oil and coolant, everything keeps adding up.

So in the end it boils down to how much you are willing to spend. I did my setup about 2 years ago and its been perfect since.

What setup are your running? BTW I can get a t3/t4 turbo brand new from a guy for $500 so thats a steal right there but will that be overkill for only 300ish HP? If so I still need to find a decently priced top mount manifold for it.

Why are you so set on a top mount turbo?

Seriously like mentioned above. You don't need a T3/T4 topmount for 300 whp. S15 T28's are very capable of making 300 whp with injectors, ecu tuned and Z32 maf. Unless you just want the cool points for having a top mount turbo. Plus the S15 T28 will spool a lot better too. But hey, it's your car.

Im running a s15 t28 an im at about 290hp. All on a stock s13 red top with a dyno tune on 18psi. If your on a budget def go with a t28, from what I have read they max at around 330 at 18psi and after loose effiency. I did plan to upgrade to top mount but like you said it is a little pricey but money isnt a issue for me. Im actually about to buy a gsxr750 so im just sticking with my t28. Im in the process of maxing my t28 out pretty much, heres what im doing so as to give you an idea. I need to install my BC 264 cams, valves, spring/retainer set. With a built head you can rev safely to 8. Add that with a t28 and your over 300 easy. Those parts, I spent around 700 for, the t28 will cost you around 400ish i belive for a good conditon one. its direct bolt on so no new hot pipe or oil lines or external waste gate ect. You said you re-searched so you know it add's up quick. GL with your ****

The real issue is that I got money just not the time and I do like having this car streetable as well. I personally feel that after about 350ish HP the stock block will not be liking me very much and I really don't wanna pop my motor b/c I know a rebuild is gonna be very time consuming. I found an s15 t28 kit with all the necessaries for like 1k and it sounds pretty decent so i might just go with that for now. Like I said I came across a killer deal on a brand new t3/t4 but can't seem to find a decently priced top mount manifold and I know the small **** will add up so its probably just easier to buy an s15 t-28 kit, get 550 injectors and a enthalpy tune. I already have a front mount and all the other necessaries. Thanks for the input though you guys were much help.
