Got a great deal on a pair of VR4 3000gt calipers for the front and rear. Im running a built rb25det that will need some help in the stopping department. Im wondering if someone out there makes a bracket for these to fit on a 89 240sx? And also should I run a factory VR4 brake rotor or should I upgrade to something else like a cobra rotor if I have to fab up a custom bracket?

Thanks

Almost positive you're gonna have to fab up a custom bracket. Unless they're compatible with something more typical as an upgrade such as EVO Brembos, 370z, etc...... they're not going to fit.

About the rotors, why not? Can't hurt anything to upgrade.

I kinda figured that I could just purchase the factory vr4 3000gt rotors...

I beleive I can fab up a backet....Not to sure about the rear but I think I can handle it.

Any info on the cobra rotors working with the vr4 calipers?

I'll bet you can use the cobra rotors as long as you design the bracket properly.
The rotor width might need to be taken into consideration as well.

Haven't seen anyone use those Calipers before, bings has brackets to use the rotors from the 300GT with Z32 Calipers

This is my approach on fabricating the bracket. Tell me if this sounds ok...

-Remove the spindle and hub
-slide the rotor on the hub and bolt down a few of the lug nuts so the rotor doesnt move
-place the caliper on the rotor with the brack pads in place.
-then fabricate the bracket.

I would want something more precise than that.
Take measurements and start from there.

I would think with the rotor bolted down not moving and the caliper in place with the pads clamping down would be dead on minus clearance for the wheels and such....What kind of measurements are you refering to?

Just double checking that everything is absolutely centered.
