1986 300 zx Turbo that Idle hunts up and down when the car is cold ,once it warms up it runs perfectly if it is a bad part I would like to know the name Part # and where i can buy a new one Or if I can just take the one I have Apart And clean it up .I installed a new timing belt last summer. I'm wondering if maybe something got floating around and might be blocking a valve Thanks for any useful help In advance.

have you checked your maf sensor??

Google "Idle Air Controller" and what it does. Something in the cam tower(I assume you mean cam tower) would not be the problem(I assume you mean gasket material in the cam tower). It would either bend/break the cam/valve spring or the valves would pass it though and burn it up(Unless its metal). The engine would not run!
