I've been thinking about putting the 300z brakes on my 240 I've heard its been done before, and i was wondering if they are actually that much better than the SE's brakes, and if any of you guys have tried and what problems and benifits you've had

It is possible and they are considerably better than stock, but not the most amazing thing in the world. You get the benefit of larger rotors 11.6" and 11" compared to the 9.8" stockers. Plus the rotors are vented and you get a 4 piston caliper up front and a 2 piston in the back. Also you get a rear drum style parking brake to prevent rotor warping by engaging the parking brake on hot rotors. As far as problems go... the 300zx brakes are for 5 lug hubs (need to be redrilled or u need to convert to 5 lugs) and the parking brake cable routing can be a problem as well.

not only has it been done before, but its quite common, search and find out, there have been thousands of threads on this, and of course they're thta much better, but even with teh 3oozx kit, id go with cross drilled and slotted rotors too, they look so much cooler!

Yes they look cooler but the debate goes on if they actuallly help in braking! 300zx brakes are actually very easy to do yourself... the fronts that is. the rears are another story! you need to convert your ebrake and there is the cable problem... but email me and i can try to help you out with all your questions that would no doubt get some people here pissed at you for not using the search function! :) [email protected]

PDMracing.com sells a package for like $1000 w/ almost everything you need for the swap. This is convenient because it's getting harder to get a hold of the discs and calipers used. PDMs are new, factory built units with black painted calipers w/ nissan stenciled in white. Very nice, I plan to get them eventually.
