So, went out driving last night, "togue tuesdays", I'm in my $300 240, and my friend drove his stock 04 BMW 325ci, and we headed up North on RT 1.. I pulled away a lot in the curves and couldn't figure out why, I thought that BMW was the ultimate driving machine... I figured that it would at least beat me in a drag race, so we did.... Gotta love the 240, needless to say I beat him, not by much, but enough to put a big smile on my face. IF YOU CAN'T MAKE HP LOSE WEIGHT!!!

It might also have had something to do with the fact that you probably don't care if you wreck your $300 car anywhere near as much as he does!

BTW - how the heck did you find a running 240 for $300?

it's called racing, it's a combination of variables. the sum of you and your car were greater than his. People always rush to quantify and save face, losing is losing, winning is winning and it's not about the math, it's the result.

On the other hand the 325i is portly and putting down 170-190 horsepower (unless they've done something drastic since I drove a 2.5 BMW). The M's are where it's at.

I got lucky I guess, when I found the car it had no rear or side windows, and it was filled with water in the trunk. So I gutted it, got some used parts from some friends and been beating its a$$ ever since. Took it to the track last tuesday and had a blast. The Starion is my other hoe, she's back in Pa. I will post some pics of both soon as I can...

Have you seen the Starion with the 4G63 in it? I think Bucher built it.

I wanted one of those soo bad when I was in high school. They should have come this way though!http://starion.turbomirage.com/

Yeah, I've seen the busher cars many times, they are beautiful, and crazy fast. I've done a ton research on the swap, and it gets a little pricey, but its not that hard to do. I on the other hand decided to build the 2.6, its bored .40 over, JE's raised compression, TEP race cam, non-jet valve ported and polished race head, bored throttle body, super 16g turbo, hard piping, and a bunch of HKS goodies....etc...etc, its a long list.. Dyno'ed 318hp at the wheels, runs low 13's and weighs well over a ton...lol. But its stock wide body, and fast as f@#$! Heres a pic of the engine bay, not as nice as those, but it does what it should.....

clean pipework, like HKS racing valve. I always loved the bodies on those things, I wanted one painted flat black, it just seems future noir like blade runner or something.

heres what 400 will buy

i finally picked up a local 240! these these cars are so freakin hard to find thanks to the whole J spec fad. my friend spoted this one in west hartford wed morning, and by 3pm it was sittin in my driveway. first the good...the body is in good condition, and its the color i wanted...the motor runs strong with no leaks even at 171000.now for the bad, its auto, but ill be changing that soonand the ugly, this is the worst spot of rust on the whole car. gonna have to do some welding to fix it.

allready got a couple leads on a manual swap and a z32 brake upgrade...im so glad i sold my dsm

Well being new to the 240sx, I'm happy to say that I didn't do too bad then at $1200 for a good condition and good running '92.

But being a gotta find a bargin of a car type of guy still wonder where the %#*(%^#^* you guys fund the same things at half price.. hahaha. One day I'll be lucky. That'll be my new saying..

...Even the sun shines on a dog @$$ every now and then! (Well once I find one of those deals I'll tell you how warm I am)
