So I have a question about the 300 Degree camber kit. This is the picture of it from Z1's website:

Am I crazy or does this not look like some Grade 5 hex bolts/nuts/washers/lock washers and some regular aluminum bar stock for $89?

I'm not trying to cheap out or anything, but I'm just curious. Is the 300 degree kit supposed to be higher grade steel or something?

Yeah, been wondering the same thing, I'll be buying the same kit here pretty quick when I drop mine ever so slightly.

Maybe it has the length and specs for the bolts and thickness of the plates somewhere online

I've been searching for the last few days, there were a few threads about it on some other forums but no answers were ever found.

I'm less concerned about the bolts than about the thickness of the aluminum spacers. They sell various thicknesses of aluminum bar stock at Home Depot, but I'm not sure what thickness the 300 degree kits is. Lowes sells Grade 8 and 10.9 hardened steel bolts in metric sizes so I would just have to get the right length ones. It would still be way cheaper than $89 (plus shipping!).

Here's another picture of it from an old TT.net classifieds ad:

Looks like 1/4" aluminum to me.

Actually I might have found the answer finally. Someone on TT.net said they are 0.30":

So 1/4" aluminum will be a little shy at 0.25", so if they sell 5/16" thick aluminum that would be almost perfect at 0.3125"

Nice find, now we just have to find the length and size of those bolts!

I'm super busy with college right now, so I probably won't get to install any of this until spring break (a few weeks from now).

When I do though, I'll take the stock bolts with me to Lowes and grab a bunch and see which sizes work best. Whatever length the stock bolts are I'm guessing the new ones need to be at least 10mm longer

Here are the dimension I used for the aluminum plates, two of each:

3.5" long x 1" wide x 0.305" thick; drill hole dia of 1/2" at 2.25" apart centred
4.125" long x 1" wide x 0.305" thick; drill hole dia of 7/16" at 3.125" apart centred

Bolts, four of each grade 10.9:
Note: grade 8 imperial = 10.9 metric; grade 5 imperial = 8.8 metric

M10x1.5 40mm length
M12x1.75 90mm length

Hope that helps

Peter

You're awesome!! Thanks man

Where did you get the 0.305" thick aluminum from? I stopped by Lowes today but all they had was 0.0625", 0.125", 0.1875", 0.25", and .375". I was thinking about putting a 0.25" + a 0.0625 so its 0.3125 thick, but I'd rather use just 1 piece.

I bought some 0.375" thickness and had a shop mill them down to size. If you'd like I can check if the shop has any left overs. Cost of actual shipping plus aluminum plates ($8.00 ish + ship).
Let me know.
Peter
