What's up yall, I'm new to the forum and turbo/fuel injection world(been working with old Chevy Rat Rods and Harley Davidsons most of my life).

I'm just about to start a rebuild on my CA18det, and I was wondering if you guys could give me some pointers, advice, suggestions, or recommendations on parts to achieve 300-350 RWHP. I don't want to stroke it(i.e. stroker kit, LOL) unless you guys think that's the only way, but other than that I'm open to ideas.

Thanks in advance for your time and info.

Welcome to the forum and I highly suggest searching as this topic has been discussed many times.

You don't need to restrock the engine. Stock internals are good for the hp you are looking for.

300hp isn't that hard to get. get yourself a bigger turbo such as a T28BB, 440cc or 550cc injectors, bigger maf unless you are going with standalone, nice FMIC intercooler and you are at 300hp.

Good luck,RafiPULSAR GTR

There are 500+whp B18 Hondas so I don't think a stroker kit is necessary (even if it were, the Tomei 2.0 kits are like $4,000). Recipe for 300whp--

forged pistonsstock rodsMLS headgasketARP headstuds550cc injectors300ZX MAFrom tuneFMICfull 3" exhaustAnd pick a turbo... GT28RS, GT2871R, GT25/40R (all with the .64 A/R turbine housing)

Another option, if you want future expandabilty, would be to just go with a top mount exhaust manifold and a T3/T4 variant. That will require some extra work (and money) including a little custom exhaust work, but the skies the limit with that type of setup.

300wps is gainable on a s15 BB turbo at 14 psi

440cc injectors, rb25 maf, hks frontmount, ecu tune and CAMS

with those minor mods 300wps was put down going beyond there i recomend a solid buildup of the bottome end!

No way are 440s enough. 450cc's max out at 280hp @ 95% duty cycle and 15psi with a base pressure of 43.5psi

Secondly, 300whp is pushing it with the S15 T28. You would be maxing that turbo out big-time.

I don't think 300whp with cams would be that hard to acheive w/the S15 T28 actually. It might harder w/o the cams, but still possible.

I was pretty sure the 440's would hit 300 that should have them pretty closed to maxed out... it depends on your fuel pressure too, if you crank it up a tad you can get more out of them. 300 whp on the S15 T28 is probably past its optimal efficiency range so you better have a big IC to cool down the air flowing off that heatpump...

That's basically what I was getting at in my post before I realized I needed to edit it. Except that 440s would be hella maxed out. You don't want to bump the fuel pressure that much because that will have a serious effect on your idle and off-boost driving. To me, bumping fuel pressure is a bandaid. Ideally you don't want to run more than 85% duty cycle on your injectors. Personally, I wouldn't run anything less than 550s if I were trying to get the most out of a T28.

I think the SR guys are hitting it w/about 17psi. If that's out of the peak effeciency range, it's not that far out, maybe the next island.

This is EXACTLY the reason that I'm running 550's. I Know that I could probabally get 300hp out of them, but I'd be close to the limit. Why risk it? The 550's are fine at idle, and have plenty of head room at 300hp.
