(from autoblog) The two cars auctioned (at Barrett-Jackson today) were not actually KR models, but regular GT models made to look like the KR for the movie. The "hero" KITT still has quite a few upgrades, including a Whipple supercharger system, Brembo brakes, upgraded suspension and exhaust, and an interior with props for the movie,

The final bid ended at an even $300,000, with the winner writing a check directly to charity.

I'm hoping telcoman is listening!

Shelby is not going to release any of the KR parts for resale. If You were lucky enough to own one (Im sure only a few of Us here would call it luck)and You needed parts, You would have to prove ownership before he would sell to You. Im waiting to see what happens when somebody repops the body parts.

It was 2 stangs zozo. And some collectors know value when they see it.

So, ya all done moving? Seems like you were gone for a little while.

Yeah, I was watching that as well. I really liked the red one...but I think one of my top favorites was the 500 HP 69 Z28.

sorry soul, there are a few of us that are as passionate about our stangs as we are our G's.

AND we evidently prefer discussing them on this forum because we enjoy the company here better than any other forum.....even when we get bashed for mentioning them. at least this thread started out as a rustang thread

how about if I post a pic of my G's in a rustang thread!!

You know, I like putting different words in the thread title, like Mustang, etc. and then watch the google ads change to Mustang related links. 475 HP Saleen supercharger, 1965 Mustangs, etc. I'll bet if I put Hemi Ram in the thread title, I'd get a link to a sheep farmer somewhere doing you know what.

Like this Ram driver on a date...

Not a chance mine probably ran very high 12's with 200 hp of nitrous. On the motor it ran 14.0-14.3 depending on traction, I was turning 8.8-8.9 1/8th's.

That truck is not even the fastest Hemi ram I know of.... one of my buddies in Minnesota is running high 10's in that crappy MN DA. He has a 392 stroker and a paxton supercharger.

Another guy in has a single turbo on a stroker he is running 10's too.

Some day I'll buy a single cab and put in a 426 stroker 2 nitrous bottles and a 727 torque flight and have a 10 second ram for 10k.

Gwoods,14.0 in a truck without any power adders is pretty good.I was looking at hemi short bed sports in 04,allmost bought one, but got struck by lightning instead. It's incredible how fast trucks are running these days. There are people around here driving 10 sec trucks on the street.Im keeping mine stock.Probably the only still stock lightning in the world.

The 14.0 was a superchips run on the street. I have a ton of 14.3-14.4 slips from the track in crappy Phoenix DA.

Oh and my truck was a 5200 lb 4 door

the best mod was long tube headers, no cats, dual 3" exhaust into 1 dual in dual out magnaflow glass pack with a built in X pipe. If I ever change anything on the G I will replace the stock mufflers with Magnaflows and remove the cats.

2nd best mod was 3.92 gears and limited slip

3rd best mod was the trans-go shift re-programmer kit and a 2800 stall billet Suncoast torque converter with a 1/2 volt .05 ohm resister soldered into the wire that returned line pressure to the ECU poor transmission spent its life chasing 120 psi.... probably ran at around 150 psi all the time. 180 psi + destroys the pump.

4th best mod superchips... raised the shift points to 6200 rpm and redline to 6500 rpm, had a performance mod... this mod gained .5 in the 1/4 mile on its own. Probably also killed the transmission and motor.

5th best mod, 6.1 hemi cam, manley titanium retainers and pushrods, manley steel valvesprings, 6.1 hemi wrinkle finished valve covers, 6.1 hemi coil packs, 6.1 hemi intake manifold. Typical rwhp gain was 60 ponies. The 6.1 cam works just fine with the 5.7 ECU.

6th best mod electric fan from 3.8l mercury sable wagon. Motor reved much quicker without the clutch fan. I ran a short belt that bi-passed the power steering pump at the track.

7th best mod ect ect ......

It was hard to let it go but it was broken almost every month. The last straw was a broken transmission and ring land on #3. My wife is awesome she shared a car with me for over a month while the Hemi was on wood blocks without a single complaint.

I had 2 nitrous kits installed one 75hp and one 125 hp. I only ever used the 75 hp and not even a complete bottle. I had problems with the throttle body puddling fuel.... probably don't have to explain why thats bad.

I ran at the track with nitrous once and ran a 14.7..... AF went to 16 and the motor was popping the whole way down the track. I killed it and pitted. Popped the hood and found a huge puddle of fuel under the throttle body!

I eventually got it to work by adding the 6.1 hemi car intake manifold but never used it at the track. I would guess from other Hemi's that 200 HP is good for about 1.5 seconds so I would probably have ran a 12.6-12.9 at the track on the bottle. When I sold the nitrous kits I parted it out and actually made money?

Your probably right about the only stock lighting... you are a pulley change away from low 13's.

Too bad You let it go, You had all the right stuff on it.Sounds like it was a lot of fun while it lasted. I know You are drag racing Your G ,but will You build another one.I say go for it. Life is too short, enjoy it while You can.I took up road racing at 50 and now regret not starting at 20.About that pulley swap,Yea ,I have resisted doing any mods for the last 4 years. It's been hard to resist, but having other toys that go fast has helped me leave it alone.
