My 90 240(SOHC) seems to have set it's own distance limits as of late. Around town I have no problems keeping it running fine. When it hits the 30 mile limit at a continuous 60-65 ,it starts to sputter like it's getting no gas . It's a little intermittent at first then it just lags to a stop. The funny part is that if you let it sit 15 minutes it's ready to roll again..for another 30. I have changed fuel filters three times(there was something that clogged the filter twice). I dropped the tank and cleaned it out as best I could. I have changed the fuel pump to a Walbro 255. It has new injector seals and no cracks in the rail. Where do I go from here? oh yeah..it's not overheating and no "check engine " light. It runs sooooo good besides that..arrrggh!My wife's having to drive the POS Ford truck to work and it is killing us on gas!

The last time you changed the Fuel Filter was it before or after you changed the fuel pump? If it was before I would change the fuel filter again. Also if you had enough junk to clog your fuel filter twice (or three times) I would be sure to flush the fuel lines to ensure you don't clog it again. Use extreme caution while doing this.

Try that and let us know what you find.

I changed to the 300zx filter and changed it after the pump install....I also cleaned out the MAF with MAF cleaner and changed the air filter. Filter wasn't bad. the MAF was pretty dirty. I took it for a run after cleaning it and it actually got about 10 miles further before "hiccuping " again. A quick pull to the side and five minute wait,it was fine again for a while. It doesn't sem to want to accelerate above 70 ..has a hesitation. So am I looking at maybe a bad alt(not get enough electrical power), bad injectors? ECU maybe? I'm stumped at this point. I've thought maybe o2 sensor even but I'd get a light for that I'd think...

I did put some seafoam in it...if it's a gunked up injector maybe that will help...
