I'm needing the 30k maintenance. Infiniti told me that this entails changing the cabin filter, flush/refill coolant, and a series of inspections. They told me this costs $600.

The maintenance schedule only states:

Replace Oil/FilterReplace Air Cleaner/FilterInspect EVAP vapor linesInspect Fuel LinesInspect Brake Lines, Cables, and PadsInspect Transmissino Fluid & Differential Gear OilInspect Exhaust SystemInspect Steering Gear & Linkage, Axle & Suspension PartsReplace In-cabin Microfilter

Does any one know exactly what is inspected and what services need performed. I get the feeling they are putting a lot of "filler" in there to get to $600.

Anyone remember what they paid?

Thanks,

Nathan

I was quoted about 600 also. Instead of paying this, I did most all of it myself. I did the oil, in cabin filter, engine filter, and put new pads on the front for around 150 bucks. I saved the reciepts for all of the parts with my warranty booklet. I am very non mechanically inclined so if I can do it, anyone can. I have a ac outlet that is not working so I am going to go in and get that fixed under warranty and I will have them do a 27 point inspection then. All of the services are a major rip off if you ask me. I think dealerships are making more profit there than they are on the actual sale of the car. If you look at your owners manual recommended services, it is entirely different from what the dealers recommend. I am not opposed to doing all of the services they recommend, but I am not going to pay a shop an hours of labor to change an air filter.

Good LuckFshrmn

Do you have a Service Manual for the G35? I need to also change my filters. Will you provide instructions?

How can anyone own a sportolux car without owning a factory service manual [FSM]? Download in PDF format for a small fee and print what you need.

This link lets you download the service manual for $295. http://www.nissan-techinfo.com...V35U8

I'll let you know if I find a less expensive one.

Whoa! Avoid the ones on eBay. Most of them are useless since they are not the official ones from Nissan or Infiniti.

I would strongly recommend the PDF download from the nissan-technfo.com web site. It is only $20 for a single day access, and you can get it all done if you have a decent speed Internet access and some patience.

I got the CDs today, and wow! Very in-depth, looks like the real thing used by nissan. Only wish I had a hard copy.

I received mine in the mail today. The cd's are very helpful and has more info than I'll ever need. What I received looks like a bootleg of an official version, but I could be wrong.

If it is a legit original FSM from Infiniti/Nissan, it should be in PDF form ... that you can print pages from! I do this for my downloads from the techinfo web site.

See the last few post in this sticky in the M45 forum for what I mean: zerothread?id=125907.

Yes it's in PDF format, and I can print out what I need...but there's nothing like a hard cover manual by you side when taking something complex apart. I had a Haynes manual for my late model firebird, and I guess I'm just used to that. It just sucks when you start whatever your doing, and oops, you didn't print out a section you need. Maybe I’ll take it to office max and have then do a manual up.

In finding an answer to my question I picked up this copy of the inspection checklist performed at the 30,000 mile maintenance at an Infiniti dealer here in town. To perform the inspection alone costs around $125.

There are 2 manuals that come with the car...The service manual that the mechanics use, is much different. It supposedly costs around $500 from Infiniti...

If you have a reasonable connection to the Internet, you can download this the full service manual (FSM is the abbreviation you see mentioned here) from http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/infiniti for $20 (for a 24 hour long access).

Remember to get all the Technical Service Bulletins (TSB's) too!

Well worth it!
