Hey everyone! This is my first post besides my introduction. So anyways.. to the good stuff.

I have 3 DIY's I need help with! One is the Backup Light Switch replacement. I've tried with a 19mm crowsfoot adapter and a socket wrench, but it didn't work. The crowsfoot adapter looked like this: http://di1-3.shoppingshadow.com/images/ ... Wrench.jpg

It wasn't gripping too well, so I went to sears and bought a set like this: http://www.toolking.com/media/catalog/p ... w351_2.jpg because they look like that would be able to grip better. Any tips, warnings or anything I should know for when I try tomorrow? Hopefully I don't get a useful tip after I try, get frustrated, and drop the transmission then unsrew it.

Second.. the DIY JDM tails! Guys im on a budget! I love the look of the JDM tails vs USDM tails. The old article's pics don't work and Ace2Cool said he would try to contact the original guy and help me out but I haven't heard anything yet! Any help? A detailed writeup would probably be great! and I would be using a heat gun instead of the oven.

Third, I need to roll my fenders because today I picked up a set of 18x7.5 DR-33's in Racing Bronze and when I turn all the way to the right, my left wheel rubs the fender. How do I do this successfully? There's probably lot's of threads about this, but i'm writing this all at once so i'll just put this in here just in case there are some helpful tips that haven't been given out.

Thanks for reading, and for all the advice I know you awesome guys and girls will give me!

Jay

The ONLY way to roll a fender is with a heat gun and a fender roller tool. You're gonna see how-to's with baseball bats, pipes, ect, but if you don't want to absolutely destroy your paint, do it right and get the fender roller.

I found the original DIY tails article, and am converting now. Here's the link for now:

As for the speed switch, never messed with mine, and can't really help out on that front. I'm sure someone else can though....

Grrr another one of Nissan's beautifully stupid engineering mistakes... The back up lamp switch. For some reason, they felt it necessary to round off the edges of the hex pattern on the switch itself. So, you can't quit get a good grip on it with a 19mm. Try getting an adjustable wrench like this:

To fit up in there and grip that thing. If nothing else... You may be able to use vise grips.

Paratrooper, I wouldn't really call it a mistake, more of a reason to take it into the dealer and charge you an outrageous amount for a ten dollar part. We all know they can make cars to last three times longer than what they do, but then no money would be made.

Ya, I understand that to a point, but when they do that to a piece that can be sort of easily reached like the sensors on the transmission... it just tells me they were lazy in the design process. Or... that they were trying to make customers return to the dealer to get them out, but didn't think vise grips existed lol.
