3 speakers not working

Seems like a simple diagnostic could potentially sort this one out, however, what's struck me as odd....

I bought the car yesterday (Halloween, right!) only the FR/R was working. Thought o well, needs some new speakers, no problem. I had to drive 800 km to home and as there's no radio reception in the bush, bought a hand full of cd's to throw in the 6 stacker (not bose).

To my surprise once i loaded them in, 3 speakers were on line FR/R, FR/L, RR/L. but still no RR/R. Cool they (most of them) work!!! Until...

With about 200kms to go, after stopping and starting i noticed FR/R is only working again.. Tried loading al cd's in and out and no luck.. Is there some sort of reset on these units? I've checked and replaced the 2 audio fuses.

Just went down to the shops, The RR/L speaker worked, then on the way back, only the FR/R was going

Seems to be working more often (3 of them anyway) after the car has been sat in the sun for a while. 3 speakers were on all the way home today, even after i restarted the car 3 rimes..

Still, I have not heard a peep from RR/R speaker

Could be wiring or it could be the head unit. There is no reset, so you will have to troubleshoot unfortunately.

You can download all those. The EL section is electrical. Page 166 has an audio troubleshooting guide, and the wiring diagrams come just before that.

Im thinkig since all your speakers are having problems, it is probably going to involve the head unit. I would start checking wire connections there first.

took the stereo out, jiggled all the wires around. Only one speaker front right working...

removed rear speakers and plugged in some old ones, both sides work fine, diagnosis at this stage is f'ed speakers
