a 97 is worth is either way. if its gonna be stock, and ur not racing or anything, the auto is fine, but ur still gonna want a 5spd.

yes, you can drift an auto, but its hard as hell

the ebrake is the same place as on a 5spd.... ebrake has nothing to do with the trans in this case

I got a 91 with a stock KA too, yes that thing can drift. I've accidentally drifted into other lanes just trying to turn at a light before.

Busta's right, it's just how you use it.

Bah! Drifting an automatic is not much different from drifting a manual transmission car. The key is gear selection. You HAVE TO manually shift it to keep it in the part of the powerband you want. Other than that, you can still use e-brake, lift-off, power-over, shift-lock, feint and whatever other skills are in your arsenal to get the thing sideways.

In addition an automatic has one other trick up its sleeve. It's a variation of power-over and it's done by holding a lower gear close to redline and UPSHIFTING as you begin to turn in. When the transmission shifts, there will be a split-second instance where the torque converter does torque multiplication, yielding an extra 40 lb-ft of torque right near the engine's torque peak to kick the rear end out. Can't do that with a manual transmission!

All I really need to do is when I'm going to a turn, let it downshift itself, then give it enough gas to break traction et voila! Once it downshifts, you can rev it quicker and higher before it upshifts than if you accelerated normally. This is just from my experiences though.

i think it's very easy to drifting an automatic car like yours. because you dont have to worry about like shifting and clutch work and all that. so, less work than a manual. but i'll still take the 5spd 240sx though. it's FUN!!!
