People using Sylvania Silver Stars, what has been your usual life expectancy for the bulb for a G50. Is there a difference of bulbs for 90-93 and 94-96? I have lost 2 now, rt side lasted just under 1 yr and only 6000 miles. Left side just went yesterday, 15 months, 11,000 miles.

The heat shield for my rt side cat coverter rusted and fell off. It was connected by a electric cable type thing that I cut (it was dragging). Is this an important thing?

Just had my oil changed, by a place that I always use, but it looks like they didn't replace one of the splash guards underneath. Does anybody have pics of the underside of the front of their Q? Isn't the oil pan covered Or does somebody have a schematic for the underside?

Thanks in advance

As far as the Silverstars that bulb life you got is pretty bad...I replaced the Silverstars in my G20 about a year ago after three years.

Ive had my silverstars in for almost a year. be sure to get the H4 bulbs, I think.. the 9005s are for the 94 but are just low beam... The H4 are dual mode so they get brighter when you put your highbeams on..

I love em, even if I have to get a new set after 2-3 years, I wont care..... They look good and you can get them at autozone.

Ive found that you shouldnt have to touch the bulb at all... you can handle it with the metal back part.....

Only one I can reply to ... It's one huge belly pan that goes nearly from wheel to wheel, at least the tie rod area.

Ok, forgot to mention, my Q is a '91. Maybe I'm losing my mind, but could have sworn that the belly pan covered the steering rack and the underside of the oil pan. the '91 doesn't have a two piece tray? I will try to take pics and post.

Also, any problem with the cat converter heat shield falling off?

Yeah its only a 1 piece thing that goes from right udner the radiator and then attaches on the cross member (right near the steering rack..)

Ive found a lot of converter shields either rattle or fall off.... on Ross's Q it was dangling and then I guess it caught a crack in the road, and it ripped itself off.. Just dont part over any dry leaves and youll be OK.

What does miles have to do with a bulbs life?

Hours of operation and the number of on cycles........cold to hot.

I was thinking the same thing, but couldn't find the right weay to say it???

I turn my headlights on after starting the car and drive with them on at ALL times, so I would imagine I'd get fewer miles .
