Ever broken in a car before??

Yeah, my car has 330hp, but I didn't do burnouts off the dealer's lot!

Now that it has 10K miles on it, I have fun with it. Sorry, but there's a reason they have an owner's manual. Why would somebody buy a BRAND NEW CAR, and not know how to properly care for it? I want to once again apologize for the harshness, but dam!

Yikes! Yup that sux.. those were some costly burnouts... if you want to continue to track the car or drive it like you stole it...you may want to take this opportunity to upgrade the clutch and fly wheel.

Ever heard of what's called a break-in period? Everything with moving parts generally has an engineered break-in period. Speakers have a break-in period. Cars have a break-in period. You clearly did not break in the G. So WTF to you.

On the other hand, you could have bought a BMW that doesn't have an oil cooler and had the car shut down on you and not even be able to run at the track to begin with.

Even if you did a burnout every time you took off, I cant see the clutch being destroyed in that short of time. How many miles are currently on the car? There is a warranty period that covers wear items (brakes, clutch, and fluids). I think it's 20k...but I could be wrong.

I don't think the warranty covers abuse or racing but I could be wrong

how many times did you take the G to the track? maybe you should consider getting a race car instead of road car for racing. Parts wear out faster when you push to limit everytime you drive..

Judging from your description of your first 2800 miles, I'd also keep a close eye on oil consumption. The main purpose of break-in is to properly seat the compression rings to the cylinder walls. This has a major impact on how strongly the engine will perform, how much oil it will consume and how long it will last. If your interest is in track performance, the break in is critical to achieving maximum power. The suggestion to take this as an opportunity to upgrade the clutch and fly wheel are good, but the use of none standard parts may affect your warranty. Good luck with the dealer.

My owners manual gives these recommendations for break-in. To late now, I guess.

BREAK-IN SCHEDULE

CAUTIONDuring the first 1,200 miles (2,000 km),follow these recommendations to obtainmaximum engine performance and ensurethe future reliability and economy of yournew vehicle. Failure to follow these recommendationsmay result in shortened enginelife and reduced engine performance.

- Avoid driving for long periods at constantspeed, either fast or slow. Donot run the engine over 4,000 rpm.

- Do not accelerate at full throttle in anygear.

- Avoid quick starts.

- Avoid hard braking as much as possible.

- Do not tow a trailer or haul a heavyload for the first 500 miles (800 km).

I don't want to keep beating the horse that is proper break-in procedure like everyone else, but its correct. And warranty will cover clutch/flywheel etc if it is proven to be defective or incorrect. But doing burnouts before your first oil change and generally abusing it when the car hadn't even settled in, thats just dumb. There are plenty of customers I see here that drive their G like they were trying out for DoH or some stunt program, but AFTER the car has been broken in, and the car holds up just fine. When you wake up in the morning, do you jump out the window in your spongebob onezie and start sprinting full speed to work in 45 degree weather? No, you have a morning routine. A car has its routine. Unlike a human, its only for its first few thousand miles, not every day.

I am surprised you would kill a clutch/flywheel so fast...

I would upgrade while you're at it... especially if you plan on tracking it frequently, and, learn to break in properly.. it will save YOU in the longrun... Pozy - your analogy was priceless.

Did you sniff Ajax thinking it was cocaine again?

That "ugliest peace if crap" (btw it's "piece" and "of") is a first gen G35X dumb a**. This is a G35/G37 forum...you know?

Also, I WAS going to give you some advice on the possibility that there was a defect with your car, but you just lost ALL respect on this forum.

Poyz is an Infiniti Tech, loser. You have no business driving a $40k car as you clearly thought that beating it to s*** was proper. Go have fun with your $2600 clutch/flywheel repair bill.

I don't know how I can properly prepare you for the blaze that is about to be thrown your way, but I will let you in on a little secret.

You

are

an

idiot.

You just bit the hand that could feed you more knowledge and information on your "peace if crap" than anyone else registered on this board. I hope your ricer tendencies eventually bring you to be nothing more than a bloody smear on the road, you despicable, low-life wanna-be badass Jersey boy.

Edit - "live and learn" is right, d!ck wad. Perhaps, in your 23 knowledgeable years alive, you should have learned how to treat other human beings with respect. Perhaps you should also have learned how to READ THE f***ING MANUAL before showing off for your sophomore in high-school girlfriend and her group of acne-ridden teenager friends that love to gawk at idiots tearing up their vehicles like it's a right of passage to being king of the f***ing nerds. Do us all a favor and drive your "peace if crap" off the side of a cliff so the world can get at least SOME enjoyment out of your pathetic life. Tard.

-please refrain from writing my name, as you have lost that right until further notice. You have no right to insult me Adam. I never insulted you or degraded you in any manner. And if your occupation is in Law enforcement, you should know better in regards to aggressive driving habits on the road. Unless you're just a remote police station secretary or assistant patrol vehicle car washer. If you burst into tears thinking my post was derogatory to you in some manner, then my apologies... but notice again my relative eloquence in educational writing and analogies. I was giving you information you could take seriously, or indecipherably seriously. You inexplicably chose the latter and then magnified in through the obsolete vision of your ego and chose to attack me. Please reconsider acting in your unacceptable behavior in the future.

I don't appreciate you degrading me about spongebob onezies when you don't know me. I did absolutely nothing to you, to write something like that and make a fool out of me. I odviously now know that I was wrong for abusing the car after the first 1000 miles but there is no reason to humiliate me about it. I am the one that has to pay for my mistake and do not appreciate the added embaressment on top of it. Then you attack me about my career. I am a full time certified Police Officer in NJ and I might have a heavy foot becasue I am used to motor-pool police interceptor Crown Vics and hemi chargers, and we all beat on them. My apologies for the other post but I do not appreiate being humiliated.

Is this your first time on the internetz son??

For a NJ Police officer, you sure whine like a lil kid. Grow some thicker skin... IT WAS A FRIKN JOKE

I'll refrain from totally embarassing you in front of the other adults here.. this will be your only warning.

If you decide that you would like to continue to post on NICO and utilize ALL of it's resources, then relax a little bit.

If not... then..

I drive a P71 too. Actually, two - One at work, and one as a daily beater on occasion. So what?

Here's what I want to know: Why are you freaking out, why did you edit your first post, and who cares if you're an LEO? There's lots of us here.

On the flip side, welcome aboard... We're a little harsh to people who appear to have no clue, so you HAD to expect it (given your age, the cost of your car, and the *ahem* treatment it got).
