First of all, it's hear, not here, and it's retarded, not retarted.

And yes, ALL racist comments are viewed as retarded. Those comments are the sign of small, pointless, diseased minds. If you haven't heard, this is 2008. Not 1935.

Why don't you grow up and drop the racist line of attack. It makes you look foolish and bigoted.

How do I respond to idiotic rhetoric about racism without telling the person that it makes him look dumb as dirt?

There is only one "d" in prejudice.

Just when I thought your previous post reached your low point, you surprise me with a new low.
O no....i forgot that the grammer( ) police was out... ...congrats on your personal attacks of my grammar instead of actually responding to a legit claim (sorry, I guess I'm dependent on F7 in Word for spell checking - and the spell check on the website doesn't work so don't flame on that either )

I still stand by the fact that you are breaking the rules in terms of personal attacks - you attacked my grammar as well as other people's opinions throughout the post (Jesda, smockers, and others). Last I checked moderators were responsible for keeping the tone and pace of a discussion in check and did not mock/castigate members of the audience. Again...

Please follow the rules....2) Debate your position. If you are incapable of debating or someone has proven you wrong, do not resort to name calling nor other childish behavior

4) Personal attacks means you lose.....and may result in a ban

I would certianly classify picking out my gramatical mistakes as childish as it did not help the discussion along any further.

And quite frankly, you have still not taken anything about racism seriously, which makes you the ignorant bigot. The fact that you resort to finding the gramatical errors in my typing instead of rationally rebuking my comments means that you have absoultely nothing constructive in regards to it. You never responded to audtatious' thread on "the race factor" nor did you even take the time to mention that you remotely understood the concept behind the Bradley Effect. Before you spout off again regarding anyone who talks about racism as "retarted ", I propose that you do some research and realize that yea, it is 2008, and yea, it still exists. Maybe in "Obamaland" where you reside the sun always shines and people are colorblind and everyone smiles and the flowers grow and the birds sing songs of joy there isn't, but when you leave your bubble and head out into the rest of America, guess what - THERE IS.

And smockers is right - our generation is smarter than yours. So please continue reading moveon.org and flaming the rest of the community that doesn't agree with your castle-in-the-sky ideals.

O yea - mathematical models suck. The next American President will be decided on Election day.

No marlin. Basically, you've adopted a racist position with your post. That is a retarded position, in fact, it's past retarded, it's illiterate.

By the way... from your post.certianly is spelled certainly.gramatical is spelled grammatical. absoultely is spelled absolutely.retarted is spelled retarded.(I wouldn't bother but you claim your generation is "smarter" and yet you continue to prove it just isn't so. It would be a good idea to work on those skills as poor grammatical skills makes you look dumb.)

Yes, grammar counts in the big boy world.

Actually, my grammar is correct; my spelling is what is not - please get it right. I'm more interested in how you have nothing to say about my arguements and would rather mock my spelling/typing skills. (Or is that skillz?) If we were talking face to face, you would really have nothing to say - it's difficult to tell me my spelling is wrong when you have to listen.

Again Smocky, the point has whooshed over your head...

my own empirical research = pulled out of your butt.

You need to understand that education has nothing to do with being smart. You may have an education, but you are not necessarily smart. Look at John McCain.

Your citations are not at all related to the wild @ss claims you've made. (but then they never are). Please try to only state facts that you can back up with valid citations, OR, simply state that they are your opinion, not verified fact. Otherwise, you may mislead someone into thinking you might be right.

And for crying out loud, it's arguments not arguements.

Kinda sounds like your claims that since 3 "models" are saying Obama will win, that means we should basically just forget the election and call him king..erm...president. Once again, I say that all of these models and the polls you mentioned somewhere in the middle are not 100% accurate.

Now if you had taken the time to research my claim about the Bradley Effect, you would have read that even though the polls stated Bradley would win the election for Governor of California, he didn't. While the topic goes on to discuss the fact that this effect has possibly dropped off in recent years, it still exists. Hence my arguement for racism possibly being a playing factor on election day.

As for sites that you metioned such as 3bluedudes.com - please post non-partisan items if you are trying to make a legit claim - I don't believe for one second that a site that says on its front page "Help the Dems!Contribute to Barack Obama!" is going to be looking out to find data that is unbiased and helps to give a complete overlook of the way the election might turn out.

Here - astrologists feel McCain is going to win, and they're always right - http://www.denverpost.com/ci_9296092

Yes, all empirical research is pulled out of all our butts. You still don't understand it apparently. I never made the explicit claim of being really smart or smarter than you or anybody else, but no one but you has tried to argue with me on this, they've all had issues with you and your wild claims. I realize I am young and don't have the experiences you have, so you may be smarter than me in certain areas that have become an expertise to you and you may be wiser than I am with those experiences, but that doesn't mean I'm not smart, and no, an education doesn't prove that either. I graduated with a lot of people who were my friends and the things they thought and said, I could only wonder how they graduated from such a university as they were some of the most idiotic things I've ever heard. They may be smart, but they may not be all there, if you know what I mean. There's a difference between being book smart and being smart, wise, or what have you. If people feel the same way about me as you do, I'd like to invite them to say so, I'll be open to criticism.

I'll just wait for the day when you can prove me wrong for once, but you're going to have to do a lot to prove me wrong because all of that data up there came from the government. If you can concretely refute anything I said besides just saying so, be my guest and I'll stand corrected if successfully done. Until then...

I made wild claims? Haha, lets see what other people have to say about that. There are things taught in high school today that used to only be taught in college courses. There are college courses that used to be graduate student courses that are now being taught to undergraduates (game theory used to be a course for Ph.D candidates and I took it as a sophomore at the 300 level; for undergraduate accounting at Michigan, the exams given are the same exams that were given to graduate students who were at the U. of Chicago Graduate School of Business (depending on the publication, GSB ranks #1 in the world down to #5 in the country), except with even tighter time constraints; IIRC, all of those have occurred within the past 5-20 years). That is my opinion and it is also fact, that's a two-for right there.

If we weren't getting smarter, the human species wouldn't be advancing itself. If we weren't getting smarter, we'd still be cavemen. If we weren't getting smarter, we wouldn't have what we have today. If we weren't getting smarter, what would this world look like today? I could go on and on.

That's because there is no rational or original thought going on. He relies to heavily on "valid sources." Also, by viewing his actions here on this forum, I would say he still acts like a young adult or teenager but with his age, he should either be in or transitioning into late adulthood. That's some developmental psychology for you, but I don't feel like going to that at the moment. Normally, people get a vacation or some sort of warning for this type of behavior.

I like this guy.

Just found out from a co-worker that his wife teaches 5th grade and they're teaching the little dudes economics. I had no clue about economics and its study (I knew it existed and what not, just never introduced to it) until my senior year of high school and only then we were taught what supply and demand curves look like.

Speaking of movie trivia, what's the new Samuel L. Jackson movie coming out, the one where he's a bad cop/neighbor? This thread reminds of that.

Wow, that's nuts. I took AP Econ in high school too - we got up to game theroy, but seriously, 5th graders?

On another scary note, it's interesting looking at how much we've progressed as an American people, but if you look at education statistics from other countries like England, they're actually ahead of us....

First time I saw this. I'm not sure who you learned statistics from. I did as you suggested and found this from Wiki:

Bayesian inference usually relies on degrees of belief, or subjective probabilities, in the induction process and does not necessarily claim to provide an objective method of induction.

Uh oh, whoops. And my logic was off base?

Great, now he's really not going to like me. At least he can't delete my posts anymore. But I'll accept a nice apology and move on, one that is true and not just "Blah, I'm sorry." I don't think the apology is owed to just me either, I think it is owed to everyone.

Just a hint to anyone about debating, don't debate on emotions or just because you don't like someone. Debate with heart-felt feelings and facts, but know how to use those feelings/opinions appropriately and know how to use facts and statistics (not the subject, but the data you use to back up arguments) appropriately as well. Also, learn when to fold your cards, otherwise you look like a fool and lose all credibility with everyone. If you use feelings, opinions, and facts inappropriately, it can mean bad news for you. Another thing is keep a good head on your shoulders.

This is a very good example of how not to debate and what not to do. I only kept going because he was asking me to, adding confrontation and jeers, which I participated in a little bit unfortunately. For those I apologize.
