Apparently fuel injectors are very expensive to replace. Is it easy to rebuild one of these injectors or should i just replace them? a nd what is the stock fuel injector cc amount?

Thanks.

Go to the junkyard, find a 240 of the same engine, pull the injectors you need and put them in your pocket. Grab the rear bench seat and give the man five bucks for it so it doesn't look suspicious that you just walked out of there.

You wont be able to rebuild them. I suggest just buying some from someone selling them.

cool, emailed back.

So does anyone know how difficult it is to install these? I am very new to mechanics and so far have only fixed the small things. I got the car and then took a friends old one for parts. I have swapped the hatch, coolant and oil change, oil filter changed, hood re-aligned, little stuff like that. Swapping the doors next weekend to wire up auto locks and windows. new rotors and brakes on the way with new tires. I just want this up and running in good condition before i start ensuring it for every day driving. anyone on here from Vancouver anyways?

Thanks!

I have 8 working injectors in my possession. Give me an email [email protected] if you're interested man.

It's one of the first things I did on my car. Not a hard install at all man, just a tip, use pb blaster or WD40 on the screws for the injector caps because they strip like butter if you don't let em soak in that.Always install with new O rings around the injector and use white lithium grease to lube it up for easy install without crushing the new o rings.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the tips man. I will pull them asap and check for O-ring damage. I will take pics and post em up. If i need some new ones, how much are you selling for and how many miles on them?

Thanks.

OO you have top feed injectors, I just realized that, I have 4 that are all working PM at [email protected]

Any how though, top feed injectors are EASY to replace, much better than side feed. In your case, you don't have injector caps, the DE motors do since those are side feed. All you have to do is disconnect any bolts bolting the fuel rail in its place onto the manifold, after that just lift the fuel rail and the injectors pretty much slide right off.

The injector O-rings MAY look like their in good condition but I would try replacing them first. When your installing the new o-ring gets some motor oil on your fingers and lubricate all the o-rings with motor oil, or dip them in oil, and put htem in, see if that stops the leak.

Is there a gasket that i will need to replace between the fuel rail and the manifold?

Thanks.

Nope, iirc, there shouldn't be. I took my SOHC fuel rail out awhile back and there shouldn't be any.
