Going to convert to a 3 inch exhaust. Well 3 inch piping but I want the quietest muffler I can find the resembles stock. 3 inches coming from the cat the muffler should still yield good results. Summit Racing has a "Turbo" Muffler with a 3in inlet and 3in outlet. My past experience with "Turbo" mufflers are they are fairly quiet. What do you think, decent performance and decent sound?

Id agree, most "turbo" mufflers are fairly quit at idle an crusing speeds, but really open up when you get on it. Id say go for it, and if its still too loud, just add a resonator if you werent already planning on doing so.

The BRM exhausts use magnaflow oval mufflers. My car has a 3" BRM and it's far quieter than most large trucks/anything diesel or even most stock cars with big engines, like mustangs and camaros.

The turbo muffler and flowmasters muffler have the worst CFM rating when they were tested on the flow bench. Magna flow although made by flowmasters gets relatively better flow. The muffler on the market with the highest CFM rating is the DynoMAX, it's CFM rating flowed better than the G reddy canister style mufflers, and is also one of the quietest on the market with the best results.Do not use a stock muffler it uses REFLECTIVE engineering, and actually prevents exhaust flow.

My experience with dynomax was it was (not tooo)loud but the flow master was louder, and the maxflo(hooker ) was the best of power and sound and loudness. have any of you heard any canister type muffler sound good? just wonderin cause I havent yet.

California Special Turbo muffler. Deeper than all, with MUCH better flow than standard turbo. Just as quiet, very deep, has a very authoritave bark at large throttle openings as well. Cost is the main concern. Less than $30.

Where the fu%K do you get your info from? The Db test on the RS-ex mag is 98, Apexi N1 is at 104Db. Big difference there buddy.

Local muffler shop, maybe. I went to my local shop and he has about 100 on the shelf. You can get about any size or offset that you need. If you want one shipped, call Ronnie at 731-926-3447. Ask about the California turbo.
