So I bought this Z (90 Z32 NA) and took it to the shop to get it inspected since the last inspection on the window says 3/11. Right away they noticed that it's misfiring. So they diagnosed it and they told me that 3 of the injectors are not firing. They're getting spark but no fuel coming out. Dealer wants $170 each however, I know there are a bunch of you guys that has replaced the old phase 1 style injectors, which fail all the time, with the phase 2 style injectors which are more reliable. IS there a certain type of phase 2 style injectors I need? or are they all the same. Also since I'll be upgrading the injectors, I will need to upgrade the plugs as well right?

Found these on ebay. Will these work?

did they tell you HOW they diagnosed it to determine it's the injectors??

And yes those injectors will work. Most people shy away from reman's, but they are fine as long as you stay with the stock size (270cc for NA and 370cc for TT). If upgrading to newer style, you will need the newer style connectors.

Yeah..Bought the injectors from Joe of Z Speed. all 6 brand new JECS for $500 and also picked up the adapter kit that come with the connectors as well. Total bill was $682 shipped. I was planning on replacing the injectors to the newer style since they said 3 injectors were bad I figured I might as well upgrade now. The adapter kit came in this past Friday. Injectors should be delivered today...have to call Z Speed to confirm. I'd like to drop it off today and talk to the service manager to see how they dignosed it. I'm assuming with a noid light but who knows. But he did also mentioned that compression ion all cyclinders are between 182 - 185 so at least I know the motor is good. Also read somewhere that even if a injector ohms out correctly, which I believe on a Z it's 12ohms, under load it may not fire at all although it is getting a "spark" from the connector. How does one test that?

Anyway, I'm going to tell them that I want the old injectors. What do you guys think?

Yeah injector ohms should be between 10 and 14. You can check if they are actually firing in a few ways. One is letting the car idle and hold a long-shafted screwdriver up the the top of the injector and listening with your ear up against it for the "click-click-click" of the injector firing. Usually its pretty obvious if one of the injectors isn't firing correctly, it will sound different than good injectors firing. Can't think of the other ways at the moment but there is a tech article about diagnosing injectors.
