3.89" Back Speakers? wtf?

I was looking around on the internet for the component speaer sizes in the 300zx cause i'm planning on replacing mine and from what i read with the bose upgraded system (that i'm pretty sure i have; do i know because it will say "Bose" on the speakers?) that the rear speakers are 3.89" and the front are 6.5". 6.5" is fine, but where do i get 3.89" speakers from?! Can i mod them or what?

There is no such thing. I guess somebody measured and got that, but I think it takes either a 3.5" or 4" speaker.

BTW, my Vanagon had 4" speakers and those things are tiny. Are you sure thats what the Z has? Crutchfiled.com says it has 4x6" speakers in the 'side panel'.

Go to EBay and pick up 6.5 adapters for the rear. It's a couple of bucks and its worth the sound quality. Beware the speaker depth is sallow, but you can always cut the bottom of the plastic stock. That's what I did.Good luck
