Continuing Saga of trying to find out what is the cause of street driving not smooth shifting on my 2019 Q70L 3.7 with 27k miles.

Symptoms, more obvious at street driving, at 40 mph and lower, when up shifting specially 2 to 3 and 3 to 4, does not feel buttery smooth rather feels like torque converter does not slip enough to make the shift smoothly. This can be felt at higher speeds/acceleration but under load is less noticeable.

Could this be transmission fluid issue? With such low mileage I doubt but will taking it to the dealer to drain and refill. I owned the car from brand new and kept up with all services but ATF has not been replaced due to low mileage.

Could it be the torque converter or valve body?

Last time took it to dealer for fluctuating RPM and this issue, they updated ECU but there was no TCU and they said it is acting normal!!!

Is there any TSB for 7 speed shifting issues?

There are no TSB's for the tranny on the '19 Q70, and it certainly shouldn't need fluid at 27K. The same tranny in the Titans is what I'd call "indecisive" and very clunky about shifting at intermediate throttle settings, so without driving it, I'm not sure what you're experiencing is even abnormal.

You are correct, this is one of those situations that I would rather have more symptoms if it is really broken so they can diagnose it or I need to find another used q70 to test drive and see how it behaves.

Have you tried resetting the ECU's learned behavior? howto-perform-an-ecu-reset-learned-beha ... 03469.html

When I first got my M, I feared transmission problems from the hard shifts at modest throttle (which did help me negotiate a lower price from the used car dealer ;) ), but noticed that in 'snow' mode, the hard shifts went away. This led me to reading about the learned behavior of the ECU and how to reset the computer ("pedal dance"). I do this twice a year now, mostly just for kicks as I don't drive in traffic very often anymore (country livin' at it's finest), but I still often notice a difference in shifts after the reset. My M has always had a hard 3-4 shift under partial pedal, but I've put 50k on over 5 years and it hasn't changed.

Good luck!
