Would the G37 motor be a simple bolt on in the M35 or is it a completely different beast?

Short answer- no

Slightly more detailed reasoning.-

The 3.7 has several more sensors and actuators than its predecessor and would not be a direct bolt in. The wiring harness and ecm would need to be replaced but the G37 does not work the same way as the M. The advancements in technology that both of these cars have in their own respects make building a hybrid near impossible given the fact the some of the input/outputs of the ecm operate in non compatible formats with each other and the CAN system would not know what is going on. I highly suspect thousands of dollars would be invested in vain.

Also installing a vk in place of a vq would not be worth the time and financial investment required to get up an running correctly.

It would be much easier to go with FI instead of a motor swap in these cars. Doing something like that would void any warranty you may have and I highly doubt you would find someone to keep this hybrid up and running.

FI= forced induction= supercharged/turbocharged engine.

i understand the interest in performance, but these are technologically advanced cars, not some B series Honda motors you can just interchange...

so as steve said, look in to forced induction, find a trustworthy speedshop in your area that you have heard good things about, see if they are willing to undertake a long project and that you are willing to shell out the money for the custom work.

Of course a turbo would be the easiest route for the M35. You can piece together a turbo system that is used on a G35 or 350Z. A good turbo shop can do this if they are familiar with modifying G35's or 350Z's. Good luck on this adventure if you do so decide!
