ok, well today i drove in LA, and found the coupe to be a very, disturbing, annoying, uncomfortable ride.. even avoiding ditches and pot holes and bumps, it was just plain rough. and i drive around in LA alot, but it was my first time in the coupe, my other cars were not as rough as the coupe. is this how the stock suspension/shocks are supposed to be? even driving in pretty decent streets it seems to be more jumpy than normal compared to other cars.

That about sums it up it's pretty tight from what I've experienced

When I owned my RSX my ride wasnt as stiff as the A/C until I lowered it.

The A/C is pretty stiff for a stock suspension and will probably loosen a little as time goes by. Def not a luxury ride, It also has alot of under steer in my opinion I drive hard and love the twisties and it def seems light up front.

I hoping when I add the H & R springs in combo with the wider tires and 1 degree + camber it'll solve the problem, it'll be even tighter to eliminate the already minimal body roll

This car luvs to run , has tons of potential

my 3.5se jumps a lot more then my mom's Maxima. it can be jumpy at times but overall it's not too bad, it doesn't bother me that much

The 3.5 comes with a "sport tuned" suspension, so yes, it is supposed to be how you described it. I personally like the ride; the stiffness is just right in my opinion.

Since the coupe has a shorter wheel base, the ride will be bumpier than the sedan.

It doesn't bothers me at all, and the streets in Mexico is 10 times worse than LA's.

I also had an RSX prior to the altima coupe and I find the suspension is pretty much the same. I think it actually feels a bit softer in the altima, but that's probably the seat being more comfortable.

I feel kind of the same with my coupe. What would be an "easy" solution to have a smoother ride?

Smaller wheels with taller tires, but it will be ugly!

You could change out your suspension components, but it isn't an "easy" solution. You could get softer riding shocks/struts/springs, but it will be costly. So as far as an "easy" solution, there pretty much isn't anything you could do.

WAIT...actually, you could just lower your tire pressure. You may be over-inflated right now. Lower the pressure to 28-30psi and I'm sure it'll improve your ride quite a bit. Good luck.

Good idea! thxs- I will try it and let you know.Regarding getting new suspension, how much do you think it will be to get a new set of shocks/struts/springs?

If you have to ask, you probably couldn't afford it haha j/k

If you wanted to replace the entire suspension, you're looking at big bucks. I'd say expect to spend at least $1500. Just deflate your tires to the desired amount, and see how that feels. Changing out suspension components would be a last resort if you absolutely can't live with the ride.

You purchased a "sport coupe", granted this isn't a race car but it is going to be tighter than normal.

A tire with a higher side wall might help a little. You just might not like the look of it.

That's right... and btw this is not my first coupe... but the suspension is to "hard" and turns the ride not very confortable.

Do you like the ride as it is?

I personally love the tight riding suspension. I've been in the sport-compact scene for many years, and all of my cars have had suspension work done to them. I love the "sport" feeling suspensions; however, I don't like that ricer Honda Civic cut springs feeling. BMW 3 series w/sport package is the ultimate suspension feel. Just enough stiffness without that kidney/bladder jarring ride.

I would check you tire pressure first. Mine was actually too low from the dealership when I got the car. I think the sugguested pressure for the car is 33 lbs on the inside door frame. When I first got my coupe, the pressure was 29 upfront and 27 in the back. I keep it at 33 and the ride seems fine to me. Of course my last car was an 06 civic SI, so the ride is similar. I would like to elimate some of the understeer on the car though. I am used to a little more direct steering.

Do you think it will loosen up a little bit with time?
