Just received a letter from my dealership about 2 days ago stating they need to perform a recall on my A/C. Anyone have any idea on what the recall could be??

Didn't we mention this recall earlier? Is it the one about the cat-converter senosr? If you get it, its gonna slow your car down a bit... if its the same one

Is this an issue with all 3.5SEs or just a few?

I got one and I'm not sure if it just applies to Cali people. The recall says the way the comp was programmed... it prob won't pass a smog and this recall needs to be done before I can renew my registration again. The dealer will give me some sort of certificate.

I have a 2.5

is it as easy to "buy" an inspection sticker in cali as it is here in ny? You could have no windows and the exhaust ending at the headers n buy a sticker for like $150

I think there are 8 states which adopt Cali emissions standarts, so i;m curios in Cali 2.5 rated at 170 hp, so after recall its gona b 165 or smthng? oh cali suxxx with all that emmissions regulations..((

lol the "coupes" are going to be afraid of any recalls now!

I think the 2.5 has the power robbing recall in Cali-emmission states..

I'd want a discount "rebate" for false HP clames then! (class action)

Ford had that once (issued a recall) then changed the intakes and tunes to get the numbers back to were they rated them.

I have a 2.5 and I got the recall letter:

Dear Nissan Owner:Nissan has decided that your 2007 or 2008 Altima is equipped with an improperly functioning on-board emission-related disagnostic system. This condition may result in failure of the on-board diagnostic system to warn you that the catalyic converter is malfunctioning.

hmm...

isn't that a good thing? for us 3.5se owners that are worried about headers giving us the check engine light because of some BS sensors.... if the emissions system isn't working properly, we wouldn't get the check engine light? lol

the letter didnt even state what my recall was for lol all it said was "Nissan has informed us your altima needs a recall to be performed, call us as soon as you can." hmm I would think they'd include what the recall was for but i guess not? lazy peoples!

in nj, its a ***** to get a tinted car to pass inspection.. not many shops do it at all... but in ny, every average joe gas station does them... most could care less about selling the stickers.. (they dont have to inspect the car lol)

Mind you these are also the places selling cigs to any 15 yr old who walks in with a little hint of a mustache or sideburns lol

Are you saying if you go in and get the recall done it will slow the car? Or, if you do not get it the car will become slower?

Thanks,
