New 3.5 SE coupe owner here, and I apologize if this has been answered before but I didn't find it even after searching... BTW, I am in love with this car! (Emotionally only, of course! )

Here, if not everywhere, the A/C is 270 HP, the G35 is 290 HP, and the 350Z is 306HP.

Nissan says same base motor, so what exactly are the differences? Cam changes? ECU chips? Intake/exhaust?

Can the A/C be brought up to 'full' spec?

I believe the 350z and G have higher compression, duel intakes and bigger injectors.

The G and Z use the VQ35HR instead of the VQ35DE - the HR has more reinforced internals allowing for more compression and better load handling.

Yes, but don't forget the G's and Z's used to use the DE and the Z put out 287Hp/274TQ and the anniversary edition was 300HP/260TQ its in the tuning, valves and ECU.

The G's using the DE varied from 260 to 298 HP

True, but the OP quoted numbers from the VQ35HR cars.

Comparing the number to the VQ35DE Z's and G's, it's mostly better internals and tuned at the intake and exhaust side.

Yup that's it, plus FWD cars over 250HP present problems for your average Joe Driver with torque steer as rule of thumb.

Not sure where torque-steer fits in to this. My 09 (270 HP) exhibits zero torque-steer at all. Sure, with TCS off, the car may slip a bit side-to-side, but still there is no torque-steer. Or maybe I'm just confused by lesser cars....

Oh, wedo have torque steer, don't kid yourself, it's just not that bad, Nissan did a heck of a job managing it.

I was just saying as a rule of thumb anything over 250HP in a FWD starts to present problems with torque steer.

Actually Nissan's ability to manage torque steer is raved about quite a bit in reviews.

They did a helluva good job of it too! Just came back from a TCS-off test, followed by driving on suddenly wet pavement, and the car was totally predictable in all situations. If you want to experience torque-steer, try a Chevy Citation from the early 80's... LOL (We used to call them Chevy 'Situations') :-)
