Hey Guys,

im really interested if anyone has this exact combo. I have a y-pipe installed but i want to know how it will sound with stock mufflers with no resonator. does anyone have this set up? my worry is that will be very raspy.

I actually had this setup for a couple days, including a 4 hour trip on the interstate. I only had the ypipe on the vehicle - no intake or any other mods. It's really not bad at all. It is a much deeper tone with a small bit of raspiness. It's definitely very tolerable. I prefer the clean sound of having an aftermarket exhaust mated to it, but if I were waiting to have enough money to add that, I definitely wouldn't hesitate on putting the y-pipe on while I waited. The performance gains are pretty good with it.

You had your stock resonator taken off? Appreciate the response!

was this pre or post-tanabe exhaust? i've been trying to find what the tanabe sounds like with a y-pipe before i buy the y-pipe, but i've had no luck finding videos of it.

Alty - there is no stock resonator on the catback of the 3.5 coupes. Just a few flat spots in the piping all the way up to the stock muffler.

DZ - I ran the y-pipe with the Tanabe for a good six months. I HIGHLY recommend it. It sounds awesome. Gives it a tad more depth and adds a small gurgle to the sound. No raspiness (except on a cold start right away - I found mine to be a bit raspy until all the piping warmed up) I really want to see what it will sound like with my 6MT now that I have a bit more control of the sound. I have no videos of it largely because I'm a slacker. I may order the y-pipe again, but I'm trying to get in touch with someone at Stillen to see if they'll make one for the coupes (they already do for the 02-06 3.5s)

Racingline y-pipe coming soon! I will be doing a nice review(detailed pictures and videos) for the y-pipe with the new supplied gaskets instead of using the RTV copper gasket/sealant. Hoping to get it within a week or two depending on shipping. Plus I would like to test it out for a few days. Pretty ecstatic to hear it paired with my Borla exhaust =) And will be doing a video on the stock exhaust with the RL y-pipe.

FANTASTIC! I like the sound of this man. Keep us posted. I will definitely order if you're able to give it a good review.
