How counter productive (if at all) would it be to install an aftermarket Y pipe (like racinglines comin in january) if your still running the stock exhaust??

I REALLY want to jump on the group buy thats most likely gonig to happen in jan, but there is NO WAY im gona be able to afford my exhaust by then.

so . . . Ypipe with stock exhaust??

300th post! (<< thats supposed to be the banana . .. i cant find it tho! lol)

I think you need an exhaust/intake to see the results

Buying a Y-pipe without an exhaust would be like buying a sink without a faucet. It still works, but it works way better if they are together

ya thats what i figured . . . i really just wanted confirmation . . . maybe i should dish out the money for the Y pipe during the GB and just not have it installed till the entire exhaust can be done . . .

You could do that, and it's probably better for the long run to get that GB price now, but you do realize if you have that Y-Pipe sitting in your house it's going to multiply your 'mod bug' even more. You may start getting those dreams of hearing that GReddy exhaust as you drive down the highway...

Well we'll see tomorrow. The dyno for the Ypipe was delayed but is 100% a go for thursday morning.

The dynos done on the previous altimas showed 12-14 WHP on a stock exhaust. So in My opinion you do not need to replace the stock exhaust system to get full benefit. In fact the coupes already have a better flowing exhaust already compared to the old altima. Stay tuned!!!!!
