Hey guys, not too new to altimas, but new to this forum...

I'm strongly considering (i really really want to get) a 3.5 Coupe, but not for a few more months, and I was on the nissan site building a 3.5 for pricing purposes. I want my version to have the HID's, fogs, and the sunroof... according to the options you can't have fogs/HIDs/Moonroof, but according to the fine print the fogs and the moonroof are standard on the 3.5. So I was wondering what options were "standard" on your ride, and what options did you want/add to it?

Hi there, Welcome!

Nissan has made it quite easy to see what comes standard with each model.

http://www.nissanusa.com/altim....html

The fogs and moonroof are NOT standard. They are part of the Premium or Tech package. Same goes for the HID.

I'm sry I should have been more spacific... I was looking at Coupe options. According to the fine print on the A/C 3.5 SE, it says fogs and moonroof are standard, but the HIDs are part of the Permium package. when I was trying to build it, it kept telling me I had to take off the fogs if i wanted the moonroof and vise versa.

Further more, would it be wise to go to a dealship and see what I can "build" there for a better price figure?

This will be my first new car purchase from a direct dealership, so I know this will be a whole new expierence for me, but I know that every time I see the coupe in person I want it more and more.

BTW Thanx for the welcome!

The problem with "building" a car is that it takes a while to get in and you will not get any special deals. You'll likely pay MSRP. If you get one from the lot you can usually come in around invoice...I got mine for exaclty invoice, but I am a 3rd ttime Nissan Buyer abnd they needed trucks (I had a Titan)..so Invoice is doing really well for this particular car...but some may do better.

I wouldnt mind waiting for a car to come in from the factory with under 100mi.

I'm also basing my finance on the MSRP anyway. I'm thinking if I can work out the payments based on that, then I'll really know how much I can afford to put into this car. I am considering waitng for a year-end deal to roll around, with a big down payment, it may end up being more affrodable.... But what do you think the likely hood of finding a 3.5 6MT, Permium, Silver A/C would be on a car lot would be? I have yet to look on actual dealership lots, but from the 3 that I pass all the time, I have yet to see a Silver 3.5 Coupe.

And if you dont mine me asking, what did you end up getting yours for?

I thought moonroof was standard on the 3.5SE Coupe. SHIFT_COUPE, you posted the link to the Altima sedan. It is a part of the 2.5S Premium Package, or an add-on if you get the 2.5S Convenience Package.

Actually, I found it was cheaper to special order. Most dealers around me were adding $2000-$3000 for market adjustment for in-stock coupes. I found a dealer to special order it, and I got it for over $1000 under MSRP. It took about 10 weeks to come in, but was well worth the wait.

He initially didn't specify a coupe. I thought he was talking about a Sedan at first. The coupe has different package options. You are correct sir

I thought so too... I always heard, and read a few articles, that if you order/build a car online and have it delivered to a dealership, they can't tack on anything (aside from destination fee and taxes) because it's not what you're build came to be online. Which is why people order/build online, and so they dont have to deal with salesman, but like I said this (or what ever new car I end up getting) will be my first purchase from a dealership.

I have everything but the Tech package. Meaning, I have the premium package and the VDC, Aluminum kick plates etc.

No problem i don't mind telling what I paid, sometimes I do well other times average, anyway, I have a 3.5 SE M/T Super Black, Charcoal Leather, Premium Package, Tech Package, Mats, kick plates, VDC, basically everything but the moon roof deflector (Thank goodness) came to a grand total of 28,292 +tax (they were nice enough to do the title and license for me)...Nissan makes a killing off of their options...even at invoice.

Thats pretty much everything I want, I dont really need the BT, the Dual Climate Control, or the Home Link, but if i cant pick and choose and Nissan wont let us, then I guess I'll just try to take them in stride, lol

Yup, Invoice is 28,292, MSRP is 31,655, I'd be really surprised if you could go under invoice as these are brandy brand new and they are sellling quite well.

Oh, didn;t have to pay destination (625) you should always be able to get that waived if its on the lot.

Well, I guess I'll have to wait and see what's available down the road. I definitly want to get this Coupe... I was considering settling for a used G35, but all the ones I come across are auto, and then I was looking at a MazdaSpeed 3... but I'm not a big fan of hatch/wagons

So While on the other Altima forum, i saw someone suggested to check invoice pricing at cars.com... for a 3.5 SE 6MT, Silver A/C w/Permium and VDC, invoice is $27,063, I may be swinging towards the Blue, but it's a tad flashy for my tastes. Hopefully a year end deal wll make this car mine for sure.

That would be great, not just the signals, but those mirrors are heated too...

Yup, you got the invoice right on that, if you can get one for invoice I think you are doing well...of course give it a year or two then you may be able to swing some better deals.

I'm really shooting for no longer then by end of next summer/begining of next fall at the absolute latest... already working on getting insurance quotes, and cutting back on unneccesary spending so I can get a big down payment faster... unless I hit the lottery before the end of the winter, it'll be a bit of waiting... I was talking to the chick at my insurance company, and she was giving me all kinds of advice on how to get the car cheaper then the dealerships list it... when i was getting a quote and told her I was going from one altima to another she was like, "oh, ok", but then I told her it was the Coupe, and she was like, "Wow, I love that car, I wish I waited a bit longer to get a new car, and I would have gotten that one." Kinda funny... she sounded hot too, LOL...

Maybe you could answer a question for me... I've been searching, and searching, even looked at the OEM Parts Dealers sites, and I cannot find the answer...

As you have the Coupe w/Permium Package... would you be able to tell me, and possibly take a pic, if your head lights have a Projector lens, or just reflective housing, with the HIDs...

There is no projector lense on these cars. The Xenon (HID) headlights that come with the premium package use a D2R bulb in a reflective housing.

And Thanx!.... So does the D2R bulb not burn as hot as a retro fit HID bulb? And what temp bulb would you say the stock D2Rs look like? and do you think getting a different/aftermarket temp bulb would be ok in the housing? how about for the stock fog housing? I saw that the bulb size is a H11, IIRC... You think it would be more reasonable to just get a Standard 3.5se and then do individual upgrades? or get them all factory?
